WWE Raw Results 2/17/14 The Wyatt Family vs. Sin Cara and Los Matadores

Erick Rowan made the first impression, colliding with Diego and roaring afterward. Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt piled on, taking turns smashing the bullfighter into the mat.

Diego managed to create some space between him and Harper, tagging Sin Cara in.

The luchador knocked The Wyatt Family around for a few moments. A discus clothesline courtesy of Harper halted that. Wyatt stepped in and added Sister Abigail's Kiss to finish Sin Cara off.

Result: The Wyatt Family win via pinfall.

This was nowhere near as fun as their match from last week's Main Event. It was shorter, more one-sided, but that's because WWE's purpose was to give The Wyatt Family momentum heading into the Elimination Chamber event.

Why choose such a goofy set of opponents then?

Roman Reigns got to dominate Mark Henry, while The Wyatt Family had to settle for bullfighters and a mini bull. The difference in importance of those victories is a chasm.

Sin Cara's Should Return to WWE Now

While many members of the WWE Universe aren’t big fans of Sin Cara and his persistent botching, his return from injury couldn’t have come at a better time for the company.

Especially after watching their RAW ratings fall once again, according to WrestleZone.
Sin Cara is a solid worker that was still learning the WWE style of wrestling when he blew out his knee Nov. 20, 2011 at Survivor Series. The star was getting over well with the younger crowd and was assuming much of the same role Rey Mysterio did with the company.

After surgery and the rehab process, Sin Cara looks to return to the ring and return to relevance just in time to save the slumping product. At least, that’s what the WWE is hoping.

NoDQ.com is reporting about Sin Cara’s return to the ring and plans for the star:

Sin Cara wrestled his first WWE match of 2012 at a WWE Supershow Saturday night in Florence, South Carolina. Sin Cara suffered a knee injury near the end of 2011 and has been out of action since. Rumors of his return had picked up over weeks, but it was not known exactly when the superstar would return from injury. Sin Cara defeated Hunico in the opening match of the house show and is being advertised for WWE's upcoming tour of Mexico next week.

While Sin Cara’s in-ring skills have been inconsistent at times, he is still one of the most athletic workers in the company. The reason the WWE needs him back is not because of his wrestling, though.

It’s because of his international appeal and his connection to children.

Both of those factors make Vince McMahon and the WWE money, which make Sin Cara very valuable to the company. As long as the kids want to wear the mask and make their parents buy the t-shirts, Sin Cara will always have a place in the WWE.

Add in Rey Mysterio’s recent drug suspension, and the WWE is now desperate for what Sin Cara has to offer.

Like it or not, you can expect plenty of dim blue lights and pointing coming our way. Maybe we can even see that hot matchup against Hunico another 100 times.

Who Should Sin Cara Feud with When He Returns from His Knee Injury?

Sin Cara is going to be back in the WWE soon.

The Spanish announce team revealed on last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw that the man formerly known as Mistico is advertised to compete on SmackDown’s upcoming tour of Mexico, which takes place from May 24-26.

News of Sin Cara’s return to the ring—although it hasn’t been confirmed—has led to speculation that the high-flying superstar will be back on TV in the near future.

He has been out of action since suffering a nasty knee injury in November 2011 at Survivor Series, and even though he developed a reputation as a bit of a botcher early on in his WWE career, his return to SmackDown probably has a lot of people in the company excited.

Not that the brand split matters these days, but it looks like Sin Cara is going to be headed to the blue brand when he returns, and I think that he’s certainly needed there.

Like him or not, Sin Cara was actually pretty over as a baby face prior to his injury, and SmackDown is dangerously thin on the baby face side. In the main event and upper mid-card, it’s Big Show, Randy Orton, Sheamus and that’s about it.

Thus, Sin Cara should be a welcome addition to the blue brand as someone who can feud with the show’s upper mid-card heels.

And his first feud should be against none other than Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes is currently in the midst of a long-running rivalry with Big Show, but that snooze-fest is going to have to end sooner or later. When it does, Rhodes should walk away still holding the Intercontinental Championship.

If that is indeed the case, there aren’t going to be a ton of baby face options for Rhodes to feud with in the mid-card title scene.

That’s where Sin Cara comes in.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingInc.com), the high-flyer revealed in a recent interview that he’s adjusting to working the “WWE style” after his early struggles. If that is indeed the case, a potential Sin Cara vs. Rhodes feud could be a solid rivalry for the upper mid-card on the blue brand.

To be honest, there aren’t going to be a ton of feud options for either man whenever Sin Cara returns. The WWE likely isn’t going to want to book a returning Sin Cara against a new mid-card heel (like Damien Sandow or Antonio Cesaro) since it will be tricky to book both guys strongly.

That’s why I think we should see a returning Sin Cara head straight for Rhodes and his Intercontinental title.

It’s just a natural creative decision to book two over mid-carders against each other, especially when the potential for a great match or series of matches is there.

Assuming Sin Cara has indeed got over his early botching woes, he could have some great chemistry with Rhodes, who has proven to be able to work with a wide range of opponents.

Give me Rhodes vs. Sin Cara this coming June, and I don’t think we’ll be disappointed.

It’s something fresh, it will keep Rhodes away from Big Show, and it’s a great way to instantly make Sin Cara relevant upon his return.

Sin Cara's suspension - Is he gone from WWE for good?

WWE superstar Sin Cara was suspended by the company on Monday, July 18, 2011, for a violation of the WWE's Wellness Policy. More information is now coming out regarding the high-flying superstar's first offense and there is also talk that he may not be back on TV once the suspension is over either.

PWInsider.com reports that the suspension was actually known about as early as June 20, 2011, but it is just being announced to the public. Sin Cara's offense was that he reportedly tested positive for anabolic steroids.

Adding onto this though, F4WOnline.com says that there is a distinct possibility that Sin Cara will not return to WWE television once the suspension has been lifted. Not sure what this means as it could go in the direction of him being sent to FCW for developmental or being pulled from WWE TV completely.

Either way, if the talk of his suspension first happening on June 20 is correct, than that would mean it is just about up and Sin Cara could come back soon. Still, the WWE did shoot an injury angle at Money in the Bank that would assume the Superstar superstar is out for some time.

Sin Cara is a member of the SmackDown brand which airs on Friday nights on SyFy.
