Kane Unmasking Exposed – Prichard Reveals Vince's Visionary Call

Bruce Prichard details Vince McMahon's 2003 decision to unmask Kane, evolving the fire-scarred monster into an expressive Big Red Machine after six masked years as Undertaker's brother.

WWE Mattel Kane

Evolution Driver: Facial Freedom

Vince pushed unmasking to grow Kane beyond static gimmick, freeing Glenn Jacobs' expressive face hidden by mask and bodysuit that concealed fictional burns. Transition justified via cosmetic surgery storyline erased visible scars, shifting from silent guttural promos to normal speech in revealing singlet. Prichard notes wrestling's constant evolution demands character progression despite fan attachment to frozen icons.

Glenn's Hesitation: Anonymity Loss

Jacobs felt apprehensive losing mask-granted anonymity, where fans rarely connected him to the man beneath despite his size. Prichard crafted post-unmasking scars—chopped hair, shaved eyebrows—for hideous reveal justifying years hidden, maintaining mystique. Temporary wild look overruled quickly, but facials amplified Kane's menace through visible emotion.

Backstage Etiquette: Names Matter

Prichard stresses newcomers introduce via real or established names like Bruiser over gimmicks, calling it common courtesy missing in modern society. Examples span Dick the Bruiser to polite greetings building locker room rapport regardless of fame. He ties it to general life manners—meet, greet, connect—beyond wrestling territories.

Brother Love Dream Inductors

For hypothetical WWE Hall of Fame induction of his Brother Love persona, Prichard picks Bobby Heenan first for perfect chemistry, then Undertaker as ideal alternate. He views it as honor without expectation, focusing on performer legacy over backstage roles. Ties into Kane discussion's character evolution theme.

WWE Battleground 2014 Predictions: WWE Title Match: John Cena vs. Roman Reigns vs. Kane vs. Randy Orton

At Money in the Bank, Cena captured his 15th heavyweight championship, much to the dismay of a WWE Universe that has grown tired of his act. Sunday night at Battleground, he will defend that title against The Authority's Randy Orton and Kane and breakout star Roman Reigns in a huge Fatal 4-Way main event.

There has been noticeable tension between Cena and Reigns, who have had several heated staredowns in the weeks leading into the event. The crowd responses to the teased encounter between them have been phenomenal, proving that WWE could have a big-money match on its hand if it chooses to go in that direction.

Over the last two weeks, the attention has turned toward the growing dissension within The Authority, most notably that involving Kane and Orton. It intensified Monday night when Orton dropped the Demon with an RKO, ensuring that the Big Red Monster will have plenty of anger to unleash when the two take to the ring for the Battleground main event.

With one of the biggest shows of the year right around the corner, do not be surprised if the booking helps set up some of the highest-profile bouts on the SummerSlam card.

Prediction: John Cena

There are only two realistic choices to leave Tampa with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Reigns is as hot as any other babyface on the roster and has been accepted with open arms by a fanbase desperate for anything but the neon-wearing champion they have now. A win for him would be the culmination of a tremendous push over the last two months.

The danger of rushing him into a situation he is not prepared for, however, is significant and could result in the irreparable damage.

That brings us to the aforementioned neon-wearing champion, who is the unquestioned face of WWE and the company's resident "Superman." When faced with tremendous adversity, he always manages to come out with his head held high and his arm raised higher.

With the timing not right for Reigns and no chance of Orton or Kane winning the gold, Cena should retain and enter SummerSlam with the top prize in professional wrestling for the second consecutive year.

Addition of Kane Hurts Championship Money in the Bank Match

Raw ended Monday night with Kane squashing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank field like it was the 2001 Royal Rumble.

A smug Triple H followed up by announcing that Kane was the eighth participant in Sunday’s main event.

The look on his face was one of self-satisfaction. He was watching Kane, one of his last remaining peers from the Attitude Era who is still an active competitor, literally lay waste to WWE’s current main event scene.

Within seconds of the announcement, however, Kane was swiftly speared by promising upstart Roman Reigns. Kane’s red lighting evaporated as quickly as his pyro. Suddenly, the whole scene came off like a facade.

Triple H’s expression went from smug confidence to discomfort. Just seconds prior, he seemed so sure that the Demon Kane would present an impossible roadblock for the rest of the combatants.

Kane’s patented explosions from the four posts and subsequent lighting appeared to be the final image of Raw headed into Money in the Bank. But within an instant, WWE’s past was speared into oblivion.

After all, this isn’t 2001.

That very fact is why it’s so puzzling that WWE would allow the championship Money in the Bank match to get older.

As it stands, the average age of the eight-man main event is 35. The average competitor will stand at 6’5" and weigh 262 pounds. Still, the 47-year-old Kane will be an outlier. He stands at approximately 7 feet tall and weighs over 320 pounds.

History tells us that the high-flyer—not the monster—serves as the foundation of the Ladder match, let alone the Money in the Bank Ladder match.

Wrestling acrobats and super athletes such as Shelton Benjamin, Shawn Michaels and Jeff Hardy are all etched in history for flying off and through ladders.

The participants in Sunday’s briefcase match (average size: 6’3", 234 pounds) are perfectly equipped to excel in the athletic showcase for which Money in the Bank has come to be known.

Crowd-pleasers such as Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston, while not expected to win, are sure to be due for show-stealing stunts.

Meanwhile, the resident high-flyer in the championship match is, well, nobody.

This is largely unprecedented at Money in the Bank. Even in last year’s somewhat geriatric all-stars match (average age: 36 years), a battered CM Punk and Rob Van Dam in winter were able to serve as serviceable stuntmen.

This year’s championship Ladder match will likely depend on a combination of Cesaro strongman spots and some variation of Bray Wyatt crab-walking with a ladder.

Those type of highlights are better suited for Ripley’s Believe It or Not than a WWE pay-per-view.

Kane’s monstrous presence and supernatural gimmick will only add to the circus theme of WWE’s main event, which—believe it or not—carries with it very serious overtones.

The winner of the Money in the Bank match will say a lot about WWE’s future plans as they pertain to Daniel Bryan. A safe choice (i.e. a proven draw like John Cena) could be an indicator that officials are content to wait out Bryan’s healing process while using a reliable placeholder like Cena.

A first-time championship win for Wyatt, Cesaro or Reigns would likely mean WWE decided to go in a new direction.

According to recent reports (from F4WOnline via WrestlingInc), John Cena is currently in line to win. This would be symbolic in some ways.

Because, despite taking an unceremonious spear, WWE’s past can always sit up.

WWE Raw Result 4/21/14: Kane Attacks Daniel Bryan

McMahon screams "That's enough!" as Kane attacks Bryan.
"I've never seen anything like that. Daniel Bryan never moved."—John "Bradshaw" Layfield.
(The vicious attack created a somber mood throughout the crowd.)
"Yes!" chants welcomed Daniel Bryan to the ring. Brie Bella awaited him there, hugging the world champ.

Stephanie McMahon cut their celebration short, sauntering to the ring in a red dress.

She mocked the "crunchiness" of Brie and Bryan's wedding. After announcing that Bryan would have to face Kane at Extreme Rules, McMahon warned that Brie better stay out of Kane's way.

"The Big Red Monster" ambushed the newlyweds, smashing Bryan into the barricade and hitting the Tombstone piledriver on the outside. He delivered the move once more, this time on the ring steps.

Medical staff helped Bryan onto a stretcher, but Kane was still in attack mode.

On the announce table, "The Devil's Favorite Demon" gave Bryan a third Tombstone piledriver. WWE medical officials managed to get Bryan back on the stretcher, Brie standing at her man's side.

The dramatic, violent moment reestablishes Kane as a monster. Memories of his corporate run are replaced with the haunting image of him leaving Bryan unconscious.

Kane vs. Bryan is bettered by this collision, giving Bryan a fresh hunger for revenge going into that battle.

Kane Is the Best First Challenge for Daniel Bryan's WWE World Championship

Kane was verbally assaulted on the April 14 edition of Monday Night Raw by Stephanie McMahon.  Stephanie was calling out The Big Red Machine on a couple of different issues, most notably Daniel Bryan as the new WWE world champion.

And by the time the spot was over, it had become apparent to fans that Kane had once again found the devil inside.  He is now targeting Daniel Bryan, and there's no better first challenger for the WWE World Championship.

The truth is that it was likely only a matter of time before Kane became The Devil's Favorite Demon once again.  He has spent nearly six months in a business suit while the familiar red mask rested under protective glass.

And that glass was not there to protect the mask; it was there to protect the other WWE Superstars.

Kane was the ultimate monster, the red menace who stalked one talent after another.  Long before Brock Lesnar was the beast incarnate, Kane wore the mantle proudly.  He terrorized the roster as a heel, and he brought fans to their feet as a babyface.

And the common denominator between the two characters is the entertainment value.  Simply put, Kane is very good at what he does, and there are very few Superstars as well-rounded and firmly established as he is.

So despite the fact that he is a veteran whose best years are likely behind him, the truth is that Kane still has a lot to offer in WWE.  It's because of this that he was meant to wear the black and red once again. He was also meant to feud with Bryan for the championship.

The reason for that lies in the history that the two men have together.

It was back in 2012 when The Big Red Monster and WWE's biggest underdog crossed paths in what many referred to as the "anger management" storyline.  It was due to their individual issues with temper and aggression that caused them to feud in the first place, and it eventually brought them together as a tag team.

While under the care of Dr. Shelby, Team Hell No embarked upon one of the most entertaining angles WWE fans had seen in years.  Kane's unsubtle, not-so-silent rage was tempered by Bryan's neurotic personality, and the two made for some very funny moments in WWE.

But when Team Hell No captured the WWE tag titles and later feuded with The Shield, the laughing gave way to awe and respect.

Kane and Bryan became a very polished, very well-rounded tag team.  Fans saw their rise in the company and their transition from comic relief to the alpha males of the tag team division.  Team Hell No had arrived, and their partnership had peaked at the perfect time.

Of course, a peak usually leads to a valley, and by the time Team Hell No split, it was a moment that fans had actually been anticipating.  But that split has ultimately led fans to the moment that is now before them.

Kane will almost certainly be the first challenger for Daniel Bryan's WWE World Championship.  Their past makes the perfect backstory, and their present roles are the perfect connection to their impending rivalry.

It's each man's present spot in the company that is the most vital element contributing to Kane's potential role as Bryan's first challenger.
Kane is WWE's director of operations, the man who has been at Triple H's right hand since October of 2013.  He has enforced The Authority's rule over the locker room and has run the show whenever Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were not on TV.  Kane successfully translated his ring character to the corporate killer that fans know him to be now.

And standing on the opposite side of The Authority is the man who destroyed its death grip on the WWE world title.

Daniel Bryan is the man who raged against the machine, the man who fought against The Authority and won.  He took the industry's top prize from Triple H's handpicked top star in Randy Orton, thus ending The Authority's hold on the company's top spot.

And now Bryan will come face to face with Kane, who will undoubtedly be looking for redemption on behalf of The Authority.  The Big Red Machine has an ax to grind against the man he once reluctantly called his partner and friend.

Kane is the best first challenger for Daniel Bryan's WWE World Championship.  When the two men come together now, the entertainment value will likely be just as strong as it ever was before.

WWE Raw Result 2/24/14: Daniel Bryan vs. Kane

Kane went after Bryan's bandaged shoulder, but his injured foe proved to be the predator.

Bryan roared as he kicked Kane and wrenched his left leg. The Director of Operations went back to Bryan's weak point, cracking his arm against the ring post and into the steel steps.

A pair of corner dropkicks got Bryan back into the match, but he reached for his arm after hitting every high-impact move.

Kane caught him going for the diving headbutt and rattled the ring with a chokeslam. Bryan kicked out, but he failed to get the Yes! Lock. He didn't need to, though, as a knee to the face was enough for the win.

He shouted to the audience that Triple H was a coward for not accepting his challenge for a WrestleMania match. Urging the crowd to chant, Bryan said that the COO couldn't ignore the fans' voice.

Fans hoping for Bryan to find his way into the WWE title match are going to be disappointed. Triple H has yet to accept, but he is on course to collide with Bryan at WrestleMania.

That's the story WWE has been leading up to since SummerSlam. It has the potential to be an instant classic. The trouble is, it's going to leave Randy Orton and Batista to suffer a flood of boos once their bout begins.

Seeing Bryan triumph and exhibit some extra aggression against Kane was fun even if it wasn't the most thrilling on his resume.

WWE Raw Results 2/17/14 Daniel Bryan vs. Kane

Kane tore off his jacket and stepped in between the ropes. Bryan threw a flurry of punches, but Kane soon tossed him outside.

The Director of Operations suplexed Bryan back inside and then pounded on his arm. A missile dropkick earned Bryan a respite from the beating. He tried to follow it up with a kick to the head, but Kane chokeslammed him over the ropes.

Kane ignored the referee's warnings and used every piece of metal in range to inflict more punishment. He continued after the match was over and then walked away grinning as Bryan writhed on the floor.

Result: Bryan wins by disqualification.

WATCH: WWE Raw 2/17/14 (Full Episode)

Story-wise, this was great. It adds drama going into the Elimination Chamber match. Bryan is going to have to battle through shoulder pain as well as five foes in order to win on Sunday.

It continues The Authority's plans of preventing Bryan from ascending the WWE, which could set up the Triple H vs. Bryan match at WrestleMania that many are expecting.

The journey to all those story elements was only somewhat entertaining, though.

One-sided bouts like this have a low ceiling in terms of excitement. It was dramatic and unsettling at moments but not compelling enough to not be tempted to reach for the remote.

Kane's MITB Future in Limbo, Potential Plans Revealed

It's disclosure time again: If you are not a fan of potential spoilers, there is no need to read any further, especially if you are looking forward to all that WWE has in store for July's Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

With that out of the way, it’s time to get down to business.

Even though Kane's "injury" is strictly a work by WWE, it appears that the company may be going all in with the angle and potentially pulling the "Big Red Machine" from the MITB All-Stars match at Sunday's pay-per-view.

Personally, I don’t see why they need to make changes to this match—especially since it’s less than a week away.

That being said, I don't work for WWE and WrestlingInc.com noted the following Wednesday morning:

F4Wonline.com reports that word going around WWE on Tuesday was that Kane would be pulled from the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on Sunday, possibly being replaced by Bray Wyatt. This would be to sell the attack from The Wyatt Family on RAW and keep the feud going. There was no announcement at last night's SmackDown tapings so we'll see what happens this week.

Look, I am all for the company’s youth movement, but it seems a bit premature to insert Wyatt into a match of this magnitude.

Granted, if he loses it’s a ladder match loss with multiple stars. This is fortunately nowhere near as detrimental as a clean pin from John Cena. However, after a debut like the Wyatt Family had there is no reason to have him lose in his first televised match.

Not to mention, the bout is being labeled as an All-Star MITB match, and how can he be labeled an "All-Star" without even having won a single match.

Any way you slice it, the WWE usually has a solid plan in place for their budding stars. Don’t get me wrong, the company’s model is far from perfect, and many stars like Ryback have suffered from creative misdirection. However, I feel like that won’t be the case here as there is too much invested in this gimmick.

Ultimately, we will have to wait and see what happens on Sunday. Until then, all we can do is hope for the best.

Why Team Hell No Must Retain Tag Team Championships | WrestleMania 29

Ever since they won the Tag Team Championships at Night of Champions, Kane and Daniel Bryan have been a dysfunctional unit on the brink of self-destruction. Team Hell No has somehow persevered and enters WrestleMania XXIX with the tag titles in tow, but that shouldn't be the end of the line for the WWE's top tag team.

It initially felt like Kane and Bryan's partnership was a short-term thing to give both of them something to do, but it has turned into a fairly lengthy storyline. The end appeared to be near on several occasions with Team Rhodes Scholars pursuing the straps and Bryan eliminating Kane from the Royal Rumble, however, Team Hell No remains intact and will defend the titles against the team of Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston at WrestleMania.

Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler Raw, March 18, 2013

As much as I believe that Kane and Bryan can do some great things as individuals moving forward and as much as I enjoy Ziggler, having Ziggler and Langston win the belts wouldn't be a smart move on the WWE's part. Langston has been Ziggler's insurance policy for a few months, but they aren't a true tag team, so putting the Tag Team Championships on them would devalue the titles.

Kane and Bryan admittedly started as a makeshift team, but they quickly became beloved by the fans and are the flag bearers of the tag division currently. The WWE actually has quite a few teams, but none of them have achieved a level of success that rivals Team Hell No. Ziggler and Langston clearly haven't as they have yet to even wrestle as a team yet.

There probably aren't many fans out there who thought that Team Hell No would hold the titles past WrestleMania, but there is no doubt that the WWE has to go that route at this point. Kane and Bryan will likely be successful whether they're together or apart, however, there isn't much incentive to break them up right now. They would both be midcarders and the WWE's tag division would be left without a dominant team to carry the load.

Bryan is unquestionably a main event-level performer, so he shouldn't be thrust back into the singles scene until there is an open path for him. He won't be able to go after the WWE Championship as John Cena is slated to win it at WrestleMania and the World Heavyweight Championship isn't really an option either. If Alberto Del Rio doesn't retain it then he'll carry on his feud with Jack Swagger anyway. Ziggler is also in the mix due to his status as Mr. Money in the Bank.

The only true openings for Bryan reside in the midcard, but we've already seen what the midcard can do to a seemingly red-hot face. The Miz seemed to be on the verge of something big when he turned face, but he has been unable to take the next step. Instead he has traded wins and losses with various midcard heels and may be relegated to the WrestleMania pre-show despite his status as a former main eventer.

Feuding over the Intercontinental or United States Championship is basically a death sentence in the WWE right now, so it would be irresponsible to throw Bryan into the fray. Perhaps he and Kane have done all they can do as Tag Team Champions, but keeping Team Hell No together for now is the best thing that the WWE can possibly do.

If winning the Tag Team Championships could somehow help Ziggler en route to the World Heavyweight Championship, then I could see the WWE going in that direction. All the tag titles would do is hold Ziggler back, though. Most fans would probably agree that Ziggler has been held back plenty since securing the Money in the Bank briefcase, so there's really no sense in forcing him to remain in the tag team scene.

Ziggler still has a couple months before he has to cash in his contract, so it can be argued that he should team with Langston in the meantime, but what he really should be doing is competing as a singles wrestler and winning all of his matches. The WWE has been unbelievably inconsistent in its booking of Ziggler as he goes through hot and cold stretches. He needs to look very strong heading into his cash in and making him a tag team wrestler isn't the way to do that.

In fact, Ziggler and Langston losing could pay immediate dividends. It can be argued that Langston has made Ziggler more of a threat, but Dolph simply doesn't need him. I would much prefer Ziggler either alone or with just A.J. Lee by his side. I can envision a scenario in which Ziggler and Langston lose to Team Hell No, leading Ziggler to slap Langston across the face following the match.

This would allow them to part ways and it would also allow Ziggler to remain heel. With so few main event heels in the company right now, Ziggler needs to remain in that role. Winning the tag titles along Big E would only further the partnership and prolong Ziggler's ascent to the main event, so there is truly no point in making that happen.

Maybe Kane and Bryan have run their course as a tag team, but they are the WWE's best bet until some other teams are built up. Ziggler and Langston obviously haven't been built to look like a legitimate threat and nobody would benefit from them winning the titles at WrestleMania XXIX.

As boring as it may sound, the WWE needs to stick with the status quo when it comes to the Tag Team Championships.

WWE Raw 2/18/13 Result: Randy Orton vs. Kane

It's a feud that has been brewing for all of about two hours. Scintillating stuff.

It's your standard Kane match until Daniel Bryan came out and distracted Kane for just a split second. But that second is all it takes for Orton to hit the Diamond Cutter, er, Ace Crusher, er, HIS MOVE to win the match.

Oh Daniel Bryan. How could you?

Key Quote: Woah." —Jerry Lawler, still scared when Kane sets the turnbuckles on fire. After seeing it weekly for a decade.

"Daniel Bryan is proving tonight that he is not a man of his word." —Michael Cole.

Match: C. Solid professional wrestling, but the key here is the angle. How will they manage to ratchet up the tension until WrestleMania without making it completely unrealistic that they don't just part ways now, belts be darned?

The Danger of Ending Team Hell No in WWE

Team Hell No was undoubtedly the WWE’s top tag team in 2012, but in 2013, the duo is bound to split up.

With very few tag teams sticking together for the long haul these days and Daniel Bryan ready for another singles run, it’s almost inevitable that Bryan and Kane will go their separate ways in the near future.

On paper, that seems like the best decision.

After all, no tag teams last forever, and it’s become quite apparent that Bryan is more than ready to get back into the World title and main event mix.

Of course, many fans can also see that Team Hell No’s best days are behind them, and it’s going to be hard for the duo to remain a tag team if it can’t recreate the magic that it found last year.

When you consider all those factors, the end of Team Hell No appears to be a good idea that would actually be best for the WWE in the long haul.

But just because it appears that way, it doesn’t mean it’s true.

There are indeed some very real dangers that would accompany the WWE splitting up Team Hell No and having Bryan and Kane go their separate ways.

First and foremost, Team Hell No has been the WWE’s top tag team for the better part of six months now and can’t easily be replaced.

Kane and Bryan have given the tag team division the star power it’s so desperately needed over the last several years, so once the duo leaves the division, it’s also going to leave a big absence of star power there.

No other duo has the star power that Team Hell No is, which makes the entire division better. Bryan and Kane improve the quality of matches, generate more interest in tag team wrestling and elevate any guys that they face.

Without them, the tag division suddenly becomes a little less important, with Team Rhodes Scholars and the duo of Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara (assuming they’re still teaming together) as the only duos that WWE seems to be interested in pushing for the long haul.

Therefore, splitting up Team Hell No might not be the best route to go if the WWE wants to remain committed to building an interesting tag team division that features some of its top stars.

Daniel Bryan receives anger management , Aug. 27, 2012

That’s not the only problem that the end of Team Hell No would create, though.

There’s also the issue of how to make the breakup benefit both Kane and Bryan, which is obviously easier said than done. Kane and Bryan have been doing arguably the best work of their careers together, so it’s safe to say that one or both guys might not be guaranteed success post-split.

Assuming they do split, a feud between the two seems likely, unless the WWE decides to go the Kofi Kingston/R-Truth route and just have them go their separate ways.

But can a Kane/Bryan feud work if both are babyfaces? Should either guy turn heel?

At this point, it wouldn’t seem to benefit either guy to go bad. Kane has been leaps and bounds better in his current face run than any of his recent heel runs (especially the last one) while Bryan has gotten so over that he almost has to be a face going forward.

There doesn’t seem to be any logic behind having these two guys feud with another when they are undoubtedly two of the WWE’s top babyfaces and are performing extremely well in those roles.

Although a Team Hell No split doesn’t have to end with a heel turn from either guy, you have to think that just having them go their separate ways is unlikely after all they’ve been through together

Still, Kane and Bryan should remain babyfaces, and having to turn one of them heel is an issue the WWE will undoubtedly encounter should it decide to pull the plug on Team Hell No.

Another issue that splitting Kane and Bryan up would create is having one or perhaps even both guys get lost in the shuffle in the singles scene.

While Bryan is widely considered to be one of the WWE’s top performers now, there’s certainly no guarantee that he will have the type of success as a singles star that he did in early 2012.

There’s a lot of talent in the WWE’s main event and upper midcard scenes, and even though Bryan is arguably the most talented superstar on the roster, that doesn’t ensure singles success once Team Hell No ends.

Meanwhile, Kane is past the point in his career where he can be a legitimate main event singles star. He’s much better suited in his current role as an upper midcard tag team performer.

The big problem that the end of Team Hell No would likely create for Kane is knocking him down the card, which would be a shame to see after the way he’s performed over the last year or so.

Thus, the WWE finds itself in quite the pickle here when it comes to Team Hell No: Does it break up the duo and elevate Bryan at the expense of Kane?

It will be very interesting to see what the WWE decides to do, and though Team Hell No is certainly going to split up at some point, the creative team has to make sure that the split happens at the right time in the right way.

After all the success that Kane and Bryan have had over the last six-plus months, they deserve to break up in a way that benefits both men, if that’s even possible.

While some would argue that Team Hell No has run its course and that it’s time for them to drop the tag team titles, ending the duo under the wrong circumstances could be a big mistake.

It’ll be up to the creative team to prevent that from happening.

WWE Royal Rumble 2013 Tag Title Match Will Steal the Show

On the night of The Rock's return to the ring, it will be two tag teams who steal the show at the 2013 Royal Rumble.

The Rock and CM Punk's WWE title match is getting the majority of attention and build going into the pay-per-view. Just behind that is the rivalry between John Cena and Dolph Ziggler.

The WWE Tag Team Title match between Team Hell No and Rhodes Scholars is almost an afterthought at this point. It's a shame because all four competitors in the match can wrestle and are helping what is a bit of a renaissance in the tag team division.

That won't be the case after the Royal Rumble is over. No matter how the biggest matches end, fans are going to be disappointed with the outcomes.

This opens the door for the tag title match to be one of the most enjoyable things on the show.

More than likely, The Rock will beat CM Punk for the WWE Title, thus enraging the fans arguing against Punk ending his 400-plus-day reign as champion against a wrestler who hasn't been in the ring in nine months.

If Punk wins, people will be upset The Rock came back just to job out to an inferior star

In terms of the Royal Rumble match, Cena has to be considered a heavy favorite, thus possibly setting up a rematch of the "Once in a Lifetime" match with The Rock at WrestleMania.

If this were to be the case, it would make the buildup to WrestleMania too predictable and ruin a bit of a spectacle that last year's match had.

The tag title match doesn't have to carry the weight of expectation with it.

Daniel Bryan, Kane, Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes can just get in the ring and do exactly what they have been in the last few months. There isn't a preconceived demand of what the match must or must not do.

Additionally, there isn't a worry as to how good the match can be.

Few wrestlers in WWE lately have been able to deliver on as much of a consistent basis as these two tag teams. They've been great in backstage segments, interviews and in the ring.

The fans are invested in all four of the wrestlers. All four of them are able to garner a reaction, be it positive or negative, from the audience, so the crowd should be hot during the match.

Unlike some tag teams where the wrestlers are simply two singles wrestlers put together for a short period of time, Team Hell No and Rhodes Scholars feel like genuine partnerships. They stick up for and complement each other in the way that tag teams should.

If there's any doubt as to whether the tag team division has been revived, it will be cast aside at the Royal Rumble.

Kane and Daniel Bryan: Why They Have the Best Comedic Chemistry in WWE in Years

Although I'm not someone who constantly bashes the WWE's PG programming, one area in which it has detracted from the overall quality of the product is when it comes to comedic segments. Many of the WWE's infantile attempts at humor fall short, but Kane and Daniel Bryan seem to be changing that.

When you consider where the new Tag Team champions were several months ago, it's tough to fathom that they are coming close to meeting or exceeding the comedic chemistry that Edge and Christian exemplified for so many years as a team. Everything Kane and Bryan have done over the past month has been fantastic, though.

When Bryan came to WWE he was a spectacular technical wrestler, but he seemed to be lacking when it came to personality. Kane made his long-awaited return under a mask last year and was portrayed as an unstoppable monster, but he has changed significantly as he has gone back to being more of a fan-friendly character.

It's tough to say why with certainty, but Kane and Bryan together as a team just works. The WWE has done a great job of cultivating their partnership by having them feud at first and then playing up their respective psychological problems to make it seem as though they have something in common.

Not only that, but both Bryan and Kane have some history with RAW general manager A.J. Lee. She used her power to further embarrass her former flames by making both of them attend anger-management classes. As simple as they were, the anger-management skits were funnier than anything the WWE has produced in the past few years at least.

Both Kane and Bryan have done such a great job that they actually make me believe that they're mentally unstable sometimes. After they won the Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions, they continually screamed "I am the Tag Team champions" at each other, and as simple as it may sound, I hope they continue that gimmick moving forward.

Kane has played the serious monster for the majority of his career, but he is no stranger to being a comedic character either. That usually happens when he's in tag teams with the likes of Hurricane, X-Pac, Rob Van Dam and others, so it isn't overly surprising to see him doing it now that he's paired with D-Bry.

As far as Bryan is concerned, though, I didn't realize he had this type of entertainment value in him. As "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, Bryan was always a vicious in-ring competitor with incredible skill, but he had a very serious demeanor that didn't seem to lend itself to comedic excellence.

Perhaps Bryan was actually being held back on the independent scene to some degree, though, as the psychotic comedy act has made him immeasurably more entertaining in my estimation. The old Bryan was great, but he was somewhat one-dimensional, so I have to believe that his new persona is going to launch him to new heights in the WWE.

One of the best features of the Attitude Era was the comedy, and while not everything was as hilarious as Vince McMahon probably thought, there were a lot of great moments. The WWE can't really let loose now like it did back then as far as comedy sketches go, but Kane and Bryan have managed to be funny while staying within the PG guidelines.

Truth be told, Kane and Bryan have a lot of restrictions that could stop them from being funny, but they haven't affected them at all. Kane and Bryan have kept things fairly simple, but the crazy gimmick allows them to act strange and it just seems to work.

I know that Kane and Bryan won't be a team forever, since Bryan has a bright future as a singles competitor, but I'm certainly going to enjoy the ride for now. The tag division has been irrelevant for so long that I'm ecstatic to see to guys working together to bring it back to prominence.

Not only are they doing that for the die-hard fans, but they're keeping all the fringe fans entertained as well with their wacky antics. Kane and Bryan are undoubtedly the best thing going in WWE right now.

WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth & Kofi Kingston vs. Kane & Daniel Bryan : Night Of Champions 2012

In light of a unforeseen turn of occasions on Crude, the peculiar-poignant couple of Kane & Daniel Bryan has supplanted The Prime Time Players as No. 1 contenders to WWE Tag Crew Champions Kofi Kingston & R-Truth. WWE's most hazardous “odd couple” will test out their tenuous matching in opposition to the authoritative champions this Sunday During the evening of Champions.

Kane and Bryan scored the exceptionally-essential opening by overcoming Titus O’Neil & Darren Youthful on Crude Monday night. Former to the challenge, Crude General Supervisor AJ Lee had affirmed that The Prime Time Players, who were granted No. 1 contender status days previous on SmackDown, still had one crew to demolish before they might move on to the champions. Unfortunately for the swaggering Players, the remaining obstruction was the improbable but adequate tandem of The Great Red Beast and WWE's chief docility master.

Initially conceptualized by Dr. Shelby, the crew of Kane and Bryan indicated just a sight of coherence in their win over O'Neil & Green. Indeed, the winning pinfall came following Kane—surprise that Bryan had tagged himself in—Chokeslammed Bryan onto Junior.

Unthinkable as it might appear, the previous enemies will now need to rely on one another depending on if they want to leave Boston with championship gold this Sunday. Will the atypical crew authenticate to be the toughest challenge yet to Kingston and Truth's championship rule, which is now in its fifth month?

On one hand, the uneasy cooperation appears to be an ideal formula for accomplishment. Preceding Globe Champions Kane and Bryan are thought about a few of WWE's most fit singles contenders, and history decidedly proposes that a significant number of singles contestants have transitioned finally into WWE's tag group division.

Yet, there is no denying that Kane and Bryan still show up less-than-easy—and more-than-ignitable—filling in as a unit. However their offered encounter in an indignation administration course carried the several Superstars closer as one than ever soon after, their RAWActive “Embrace It Out” Match on the Sept. 3 Crude did not closure warmly. With the WWE Tag Group Titles hanging to be decided, can Kane and Bryan put their departures aside, or is this blending basically excessively combustible to succeed?

Regardless of the fact that Kane and Bryan are ready to get on the same page, their group may still be lethally blocked by every Superstar's single unfriendliness. Dr. Shelby's exertions to control their annoyance situations have indicated trends toward moderate advance, but the WWE Universe could be hard-pressed to portray either Kane or Bryan as without anger actually, Bryan's outrage to the “Yes!”-droning force in Milwaukee, Wis., on Crude several weeks in the past initiated him to lose his temper and lose through number-out to R-Truth.)

That might spell hang-up for the challengers, as standing opposite the ring from them this Sunday should be the generally-oiled machine regarded as the WWE Tag Crew Champions. Kofi Kingston & R-Truth have stood on WWE's gathered tag group division for practically part of a year, and over the course of their rule, they’ve turned back one crew following a different one. Durable and amusement-cherishing, Kingston and Truth are completely contrary influences of Kane and Bryan, and there appears to be small explanation to think they will update their methodology Around evening time of Champions.

Who will leave Night of Champions with the WWE Tag Crew Titles? Will Truth & Kingston include yet a different towering-profile triumph to their presently extended record of defeated challengers? Then again will Kane and Bryan stun the WWE Universe—and perhaps even one another—by producing an auspicious unit? Discover this Sunday Around evening time of Champions

What Happens If Kane Beats CM Punk for the WWE Title?

For the first time in eight years (more like for the first time since October 10, 2008), the WWE Championship will be decided on SmackDown when CM Punk defends his title against the big, red monster Kane.

Despite WWE's claim that the upcoming match between CM Punk and Kane is the first WWE title match on SmackDown in eight years, the last time the title was defended on SmackDown was on October 10, 2008 (about 3 years, 4 months ago)—when then-WWE Champion Triple H battled Big Show. That match ended in a no contest.

It is interesting to note that the WWE title has only changed hands two times in SmackDown history. On the September 16, 1999 episode, Mr. McMahon defeated Triple H for the title with help from Stone Cold Steve Austin. Then, on the September 18, 2003 episode, Brock Lesnar defeated Kurt Angle for the title in a 60-minute Iron Man match.

Will the WWE title change hands this Friday night on SmackDown?

Before you laugh, I want you to know I don't think it will happen. I expect Kane and CM Punk to end in a no contest after Daniel Bryan hits both men with a steel chair. I expect the usual.

But think about it. Imagine what would happen if Kane were to beat CM Punk for the title on SmackDown.

For one thing, Kane winning the title on SmackDown would shock the world. It would get everyone talking. Anyone who missed the show would feel terrible for missing it and for assuming that nothing game changing or exciting ever happens on SmackDown.

Of course, SmackDown spoilers exist, but even if you knew that Kane would beat CM Punk for the title, wouldn't you still tune in on Friday night to see Kane win? Having Kane beat CM Punk for the title would even help Monday Night Raw's ratings—especially because Raw is live (which means unpredictable). For that reason, having Kane win the title on Friday would likely help ratings for both Raw and SmackDown.

As with anything in life, there are drawbacks to having Kane defeat CM Punk. One drawback is that the shock-factor would eventually wear off, and the ratings would go with it. Another drawback is that the current Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk feud would become a bit less important with the WWE title out of the picture.

Ultimately, there are many pros and cons to having Kane win the title this Friday. I've only listed a couple of each so that you could list the rest for me.

What's more on John Cena vs. Kane feud

WWE officials have reported that John Cena and Kane will face each other in an Last Man Standing Match at next month's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Both Cena and Kane will still face each other before Elimination Chamber at WWE's Live Events in a stipulated match.

John Cena vs. Kane - Royal Rumble 2012

In a real-life fight of good compared to wicked, John Cena will deal with one of the gravest difficulties of his professionl wrestling carrer. On Jan. 29 when he stands off against Kane at the Twenty fifth Royal Rumble event. Without title on the line, yet the world says it's about bragging rights, this main-event-match series had been designed around a single emotion: hate.

Now that Kane’s strategy to “spread the hate” has captured Cena’s friend Zack Ryder, however, another sentiment has possibly been included to the mix for the Cenation leader: guilt. With Kane having assaulted and seriously injured the U.S.Champion, Cena walks into the Royal Rumble knowing that his competition with Kane has already introduced damage upon his close best friend.

Even before Ryder became entangled, though, this was a issue all about dislike. One aspect of the formula is the righteous Cena, who happily supports a “Rise Above Hate” mindset whenever the subject is brought up. On the other aspect, the restrengthened Big Red Monster, who has been a dangerous  – with a mask.

Although these two Personalities has faced each other before, their future match at the Royal Rumble is created exclusive by this convincing term of chants, which is, “Let’s Go Cena” and “Cena Sucks,”, which came from the WWE Universe’s as a combined response to Cena.

For many years, Cena has been the market-able figure for WWE. As such, there have been special few times at some point when he has not had a bull’s-eye on it. Fragmented by dueling chants of “Let’s Go Cena” and “Cena Sucks,” the WWE Universe is continuing to grow acquainted to seeing the polarizing Superstar reverse one challenger after another.

The Devil’s favorite Demon, though, seems to have shaken Cena to the root with his concept of hate. Initially purpose on effective Cena to “embrace the hate,” Kane was adament for several weeks that the Cenation leader tap into a place of DNA that may not even exist.

His attempt has verified ineffective, as the diplomatic Cena bring the firm considering that the WWE Universe should be completely able to say whatever they think – even him.

Cena’s principled techniques, however, have come at a expensive - in this situation, replicated problems by Kane that have built over to involve Ryder. Apparently conceding that Cena is unlikely to run from his philosophy, The Big Red Monster now says he’s out to make sure that Cena experiences the repercussions of rejecting hate.

Though Cena hardly turned away Kane’s devious strategy to get Ryder into terrible on the Jan. 2 on Raw SuperShow, success was not on his aspect, or Ryder’s, per weeks time later when Kane used Ryder as a trap to attract Cena.

On Jan. 29, Will Cena will have his opportunity to avenge Ryder, while Kane will have his opportunity to experience the repercussions that he looks for. Who will succeed? Has The Devil’s Preferred Demon’s constant problems used down Cena? Or will Cena, outmatched actually by the terrorizing creature, somehow handle to out-will Kane?
