With that out of the way, it’s time to get down to business.
Even though Kane's "injury" is strictly a work by WWE, it appears that the company may be going all in with the angle and potentially pulling the "Big Red Machine" from the MITB All-Stars match at Sunday's pay-per-view.
Personally, I don’t see why they need to make changes to this match—especially since it’s less than a week away.
That being said, I don't work for WWE and WrestlingInc.com noted the following Wednesday morning:
F4Wonline.com reports that word going around WWE on Tuesday was that Kane would be pulled from the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on Sunday, possibly being replaced by Bray Wyatt. This would be to sell the attack from The Wyatt Family on RAW and keep the feud going. There was no announcement at last night's SmackDown tapings so we'll see what happens this week.
Look, I am all for the company’s youth movement, but it seems a bit premature to insert Wyatt into a match of this magnitude.
Granted, if he loses it’s a ladder match loss with multiple stars. This is fortunately nowhere near as detrimental as a clean pin from John Cena. However, after a debut like the Wyatt Family had there is no reason to have him lose in his first televised match.
Not to mention, the bout is being labeled as an All-Star MITB match, and how can he be labeled an "All-Star" without even having won a single match.
Any way you slice it, the WWE usually has a solid plan in place for their budding stars. Don’t get me wrong, the company’s model is far from perfect, and many stars like Ryback have suffered from creative misdirection. However, I feel like that won’t be the case here as there is too much invested in this gimmick.
Ultimately, we will have to wait and see what happens on Sunday. Until then, all we can do is hope for the best.
