Sports books that offer pro wrestling wagers were way off in setting the lines for Fastlane with 3 upsets and some lopsided odds that were overcome. This was not expected. Major news websites have labeled the prior odds as spoilers and this incidentally wasn’t how the outcomes played out this time around.

Nia Jax was a -1700 favorite prior to the match with Sasha Banks and while Nia dominated, Sasha was able to draw from her reserve and find a way to win. This is the first upset of 2017. Sasha was actually the original sports book favorite and this quickly shifted in favor of Jax.

Braun Strowman favored at -1200 also turned out to be an overvalued line and the underdog Roman Reigns managed to give Strowman his first pinfall loss. The long odds on Strowman was driven by the prop bets in the Euro Market for the Undertaker to interfere and cost Reigns the match. Favored to appear at ringside, Taker was no where to be seen at Fastlane.

Charlotte, with a perfect record on PPV was at one point favored at -1750. The day of Fastlane those lines moves with Charlotte being only a slight underdog at -160. A non-finish was speculated on because of this, but instead Bayley retained her championship, broke Charlotte Flair’s PPV streak and overcame the odds.

This makes the pro wrestling betting more volatile and unpredictable going into Wrestlemania and it should be interesting to see if these regular upsets will become more frequent again.

WWE Is Slowly Building Towards A Shield Reunion

Ever since Seth Rollins returned from his knee injury this past spring, there have been rumors of a possible Shield reunion. But, with Reigns and Rollins both on Raw, and with Dean Ambrose on SmackDown, it doesn’t seem likely that the trio, which disbanded in the spring of 2014, will reunite anytime soon.

WWE could be planning to shake up the rosters at some point in 2017, because according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they’re slowly building towards a Shield reunion.

While reviewing the opening Segment from this past Monday’s Raw — which involved Stephanie McMahon, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins — Meltzer said that WWE is planning to do a Shield reunion, because they believe that reuniting the trio will finally force the fans to get behind Reigns, who’s been struggling as a babyface ever since the group broke up.

“The fans were cheering for Roman Reigns when [he was talking about] The Shield powerbombing Braun Strowman through a table, so they kinda found this little way to get people to cheer for Roman. Then Stephanie teased reuniting The Shield for one night, then she said “you people are so gullible,” so I don’t know what the purpose of that was. They’re doing a slow build to a Shield reunion, but don’t [tease it] to get yourself over as a heel.”


WWE could possibly shake up the rosters following WrestleMania 33, so we could end up seeing Dean Ambrose on Raw in the spring of 2017, which will likely lead to a Shield reunion.

- According to the Observer, WWE still hasn't decided on what Roman Reigns will be doing at WrestleMania 33 but it's entirely possible he'll be Universal champion and that he could be winning it at Royal Rumble next month.

- Dave Meltzer also noted there has been a "big surprise" idea floated for Reigns but it probably won't happen.

- PW Insider notes there's been talk that an official announcement could be coming soon from Anthem Sports and Entertainment on purchasing TNA. Furthermore, Dixie Carter will be completely out of power.

To the surprise of no one, this rumor has finally come to light that Roman Reigns will finally be turning heel once he returns from his suspension.

At “Battleground,” he’ll be a part of the triple threat match between the current WWE Champion Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. The expectation is that he’ll be booed out of the building like never before.

There is going to be overwhelming negativity on Reigns when he returns. However, the rumor going into the news day today was that Vince McMahon was planning a “redemption” storyline for Roman’s return.

The plan for that is for Reigns to be apologetic and slowly earn his way back into the good graces of the WWE Universe. That’s an uphill battle, so there is another rumor claiming WWE may just accept his position and turn him heel.

According to a report from RingTalkk.com, a heel turn is very possible at “Battleground,” but it will most likely involved him not winning the WWE Championship because he’s still in the doghouse after the suspension.

WWE Rumors: WWE Still Planning The Club vs. The Shield For Late 2016

Before The Club & The Shield can share a WWE ring, there are a lot of factors that must come together for the six or more men to even get to that point on WWE television. For starters, there is the question of when or if Finn Balor will be a factor in this feud. We know that Balor is coming to the main roster via the WWE Draft, so how is he going to fit in with The Club?

According to the report, Vince McMahon wants The Club stable to become much stronger before a feud with The Shield, which makes sense. The trio of AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows have a lot of history together, but they need to be built up for the WWE Universe to see their chemistry and dominance.

There is also the possibility of WWE adding more members to The Club, which would complicate matters in a potential feud with The Shield. Finn Balor is one factor, but other names like Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura have also been brought up as potential new members of the group.

Needless to say, WWE is still making decisions about how to book The Club, so a possible feud with The Shield will have to be put off until after the feud with John Cena is over, new members are added, and The Club is the strongest stable in WWE.

The Club is only half the feud. The other half is reforming The Shield, which is no easy feat considering the current state of WWE. The current WWE Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns are a little busy at the moment with a triple threat match at WWE Battleground. The Shield is feuding within itself right now, so it may not be the best time for a reunion tour.

The WWE Draft has the potential to break up The Shield, but there are always ways for WWE to get all three men on Raw or SmackDown together. If they are, Ambrose is the top face in the company. The WWE Universe is begging for Rollins to embrace a face turn, and Reigns is still technically a good guy despite his dynamic with the WWE fans.

The point is a Shield reunion would get all three men on the same page if The Club were getting too strong and The Hounds of Justice had to reset the established order of WWE. It’s complex how a feud would begin between the two stables, but WWE hasn’t given up on the potential rivalry of these two great trios.

Originally, it was rumored that The Club vs. The Shield would take place at WWE Battleground. That rumor was kaput some time ago and is clearly not happening in two weeks. However, Survivor Series isn’t that much of a stretch if WWE officials and Vince McMahon are serious about this feud. There is no doubt that we’ll see The Club vs. The Shield someday, the question is when WWE will pull the trigger and give us the feud of a lifetime.

Rumors: Roman Reigns' storyline after return from suspension revealed

“The Guy” will have to work extra hard to make people believe in him once again

Roman Reigns’ suspension might be the best thing that’s happened to the WWE in a while, especially from the perspective of the World Heavyweight Championship. What was the main event from times immemorial became a soggy dud in the WWE’s attempt to light up the sky in spectacular fashion.

The biggest belt in wrestling is slowly regaining its strength, but will it be strong enough to withstand another wave of Roman Reigns? If what Wade Keller of Pro Wrestling Torch reports pans out the way it is intended to, it just might.

According to the report, Vince McMahon wants Reigns to battle for redemption once he returns. It sounds like “The Guy” will have to work his way up from the scratch and toil doubly hard to regain the revered position he callously threw away.

  The reason it just might work is because it has before. Reigns was at his peak as a singles competitor when he repeatedly came up short in the main event scene. And there are more breadcrumbs in the form of Stephanie McMahon calling Reigns an embarrassment and Rollins taking potshots at him as well.

Reigns was reportedly forced to apologize to the entire locker room by Mark Carrano(Director of Talent Relations), on orders from Triple H.
