Rumor Roundup: Rollins Mania plans, Taker return, Hardys’ contract, more!

• Seth Rollins being cleared for WrestleMania is not 100%. WWE is said to have several back-up plans in place, and even if Rollins is cleared, it will likely be for a segment & brawl with Triple H - not an official match.
• That’s likely one of the reasons the company hasn’t started Mania programs for Finn Balor or Samoa Joe.
• While the exact length of the Hardys deal with Ring of Honor isn’t known, Wrestling Observer reports they are with the promotion past the dates Matt mentioned in his Saturday night promo. Dave Meltzer says it will keep them from going to WWE “anytime soon”.
• Undertaker is likely for Raw tonight to start his WrestleMania program with Roman Reigns.
• Jeff Jarrett has had talks with Spike TV about moving Impact Wrestling back to the channel in the United States as soon as possible.

Seth Rollins returns, vows to challenge Triple H at WrestleMania 33

Seth Rollins made his scheduled appearance on Monday Night Raw in Green Bay tonight (Feb. 27, 2017) for an interview with Corey Graves where he promised to address both Triple H and his status for WrestleMania 33 on April 2 in Orlando. He came out with a single crutch, a brace on his knee, limping all the way.

His tone was somber. “It sucks,” he said. “Maybe I deserve this.”

He wondered aloud what he sacrificed to win the WWE championship, having blamed so many others and pointed fingers at everyone other than himself. “I told the world that I didn’t sell out, I bought in. But did I buy in too much? I should have known better, dude. Triple H stabbed me in the back, big surprise.

“I should have known better.”

When asked about missing WrestleMania again, Rollins got emotional.

“Right now, it’s not looking great. It doesn’t look like the doctors are going to clear me in time for WrestleMania.”

That elicited a boo from the crowd.

Then Triple H’s music hit.

He walked out with a broad smile on his face, a microphone in hand. When he got to the ring, he pointed out Samoa Joe behind Rollins. Then he told him instead of the wishy-washy answer Rollins gave he wanted to make it clear.

“You will not be at WrestleMania,” he said. “No matter what anybody says, no matter what anybody tells ya, you won’t be at WrestleMania.”


Then he straight up told Rollins he used him up and spit him out. He called him “the past, a washed up, beat up superstar who is worthless. Salvage what is left, Seth. What little bit is left, Seth, salvage it.”

Triple H then told him not to come to WrestleMania, specifically instructed him not to show up and call him out because if he does, “The Game” swears it will be the last thing Rollins ever does in a WWE ring.

Before Trips could walk away, Rollins stopped him to say he has nothing left to lose. “I will be at WrestleMania and if it’s the last thing I ever do then I swear to you it will be the last thing YOU ever do.”

And there you have it.

• Roman Reigns is penciled in to win the Universal championship at some point but it may not happen at Royal Rumble.
• Chris Jericho signed a new WWE deal but he's not expected to last longer than WrestleMania 33.
• The latest on Emmalina is they are holding off on her until after Royal Rumble.
• Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, and Drew Galloway still have yet to sign new deals with TNA, according to the Observer.
• Speaking of TNA, it looks like Anthem will be dropping those initials going forward and they will be known as Impact Wrestling.

Several Updates On Planned Matches For WM33, Three Matches Apparently Set, Who Could Undertaker Be Facing?, How Will The Rumble Affect Plans?

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE officials have locked in the following three matches for WrestleMania 33:

• Triple H vs Seth Rollins
• The Big Show vs Shaq
• Bill Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar

A match between John Cena and Undertaker has also been heavily rumored, and even teased on Smackdown Live this week, but apparently Vince McMahon has yet to officially sign off on the bout. US Champion Roman Reigns is also being considered for a marquee bout with Undertaker with Vince McMahon feeling that Roman is the future and a match between Cena and Taker does not build to the future. They also acknowledge that this could be Undertaker’s final WrestleMania and that is also playing in to the decision.

If John Cena is able to win the WWE Championship from AJ Styles or Roman Reigns is able to win the WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble it would seem that Undertaker would be in line for a title shot. Undertaker has not yet been announced for the Royal Rumble match but considering the possible scenarios available the Observer is saying that he is a favorite to win the match.

Braun Strowman is also said to be a heavy favorite to win the Royal Rumble this year. Indicating that if Reigns is able to win the WWE Universal Championship and Braun the Rumble the two could be set for a collision at WrestleMania 33.

The storyline between Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens has been brewing for several months as well and a match between the two at WrestleMania 33 is also being considered but has not been confirmed. Some kind of multi-woman match for the RAW Women’s Championship is also being considered.

Original Wrestlemania 33 Plans For Brock Lesnar

On a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted something that many (including our very own website) had noted several times before and that is that the original plans for Wrestlemania 33 involved Shane McMahon facing Brock Lesnar. Vince obviously changed his tune and the plan is looking more and more like Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg in a rematch at the show based on all the build-up we've seen so far. Meltzer also commented on the rumors of Braun Strowman facing Brock at Wrestlemania but quickly denied them, saying that it was always supposed to be Shane.

As reported by Inquisitr, Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke Hogan made comments on TMZ that her father would return to WWE at Wrestlemania 33 more than a year after his most recent dismissal from the company.

Though Brooke did not made an outright confirmation or denial regarding his father's return, several WWE fans is already thrilled to see him once again. Hogan's return would happen close to two years after an audio recording where Hogan made racist statements about his daughter's boyfriend that time had leaked. This incident caused Hulk Hogan's removal from almost all that mentions his name even the WWE Hall of Fame Listing.

Meanwhile, the WWE RAW roster is getting another addition with the legendary Ric Flair. Flair just signed a new contract with WWE RAW as per Comic Book. That full-time deal led to his latest appearance following the Charlotte Flair vs Sasha Banks match in which Sasha won for the third time.

But fans were surprised upon seeing Ric Flair holding up Sasha's hand after her victory which definitely had cause a stir to his daughter. It will be interesting for WWE RAW to determine in what way they would use Ric Flair as they go forward. Well, they can pair him up with his daughter for another run or they can build off Flair with his appearance with Sasha.

Lastly, in the WWE rumors, Goldberg might face Undertaker or John Cena after beating Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Though some say that Goldberg will continue his feud with Lesnar, some also want to know who he shall take on next.

In an official site of WWE, a poll has been conducted to determine who shall he face next and fans picked Undertaker with 40 percent, Roman Reigns was in second with 20 percent and John Cena in third with 119 percent.

If WWE would give the fans what they want, it would be a Goldberg vs Undertaker match and it's a guarantee that fans will be thrilled with this epic match.

With regard to the latest WWE rumors, fans are surely hoping for Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair's return plus Goldberg taking a fight against Undertaker or John Cena.

Kevin Owens is Frontrunner to Face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33

Almost everyone is hoping for John Cena vs. The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando. There is no question that is the biggest match WWE officials could book for next year’s showcase of the immortals, but there is another WWE Superstar in line.

The Wrestlemania match with The Undertaker is on an equal level to a WWE title match on the grandest stage of them all. It can be used to be the biggest match on the card, or elevate someone to new heights in their career.

It seems that WWE is thinking about the latter for Kevin Owens. According to a report from Sportsrageous.com, Owens is the frontrunner to face Undertaker at Wrestlemania next year. However, we likely won’t be doing it as the WWE Universal Champion.

Apparently, Kevin Owens is expected to drop the WWE Universal title to an unnamed challenge at the “Royal Rumble” in San Antonio. The top choice for that match is Brock Lesnar, but the card is always subject to change with so many things up in the air.

Afterward, Owens would set his sight on Undertaker, which would elevate him to new heights as he challenges The Phenom during his twenty-fifth Wrestlemania appearance.
