Cena moves to Raw, Becky Lynch booking for SummerSlam, More on R-Truth and Taboo Tuesday

                                      (United States)                        (India)

John Cena has been advertised for the No Mercy pay-per-view on Sept. 24. It is a Raw's show which indicated that Cena will moved to Raw during the upcoming SuperStar shake up.

There is a possibility of a former pay-per-view making a comeback, leading to the obvious speculation it is "Taboo Tuesday".

Cris Cyborg has challenged Becky Lynch for a SummerSlam match on Twitter back-and-forth but there no actual hype for this until now.

WWE recently shot a game show segment with R-Truth for the WWE Network, but the word is out that it won't be aired.

TNA Not Happy with Josh Matthews’ Tweet

Can this guy do anything right? Josh Matthews has been the lead play by play announcer for “Impact Wrestling” since January 2015 and hasn’t been the most popular announcer in the world. Fans haven’t seemed to be too friendly to his abrasive style and recently, Matthews has lashed out at them a bit.

Matthews took to Twitter after the “Real Shoot Podcast” took offense to something that he had said (not mentioned in the Tweet). This prompted Matthews to mock the show for its name and to tell them to shoot themselves.

According to Prowrestlingsheet.com, TNA officials weren’t happy with this and gave him a warning to cut this out in the future. Matthews has since deleted the Tweet but does have the following one up.

Former WWE Creative Team Member Passes Away, Samoa Joe And Other Comment

Former WWE creative writer Joe Franciosi passed far from a heart attack on Friday. Joe worked with the WWE creative team in 2010 and once did a segment with Ted DiBiase where he took out a fake eye. His most creative work was for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and started with Rick Bassman's UPW advancement in California.

The following are a few tweets recalling Joe:

WWE Star John Cena Shares Video of Himself Squatting 396 Pounds

They might not be able to shoot a basketball like Kevin Durant or hit a baseball like Giancarlo Stanton, but WWE Superstars are supreme athletes.

Update from Friday, May 15 It was originally reported that Cena was squatting 600 pounds. The wrestler later cleared up the confusion about how much he was squatting on Twitter, letting everyone know that it was a total of 396 pounds.

John Cena, one of WWE’s biggest draws in the past decade, is the perfect example. Cena posted a

slow-motion clip of himself squatting a significant amount of weight on Thursday. That's heavier than Big Show, whom Cena also picked up at WrestleMania XXV.

Cryptic Sting tweets lead to speculation of WWE Raw appearance on July 14 in Virginia

For months now, the only information we've had to go on regarding Sting and his future with WWE is reporting from outlets like the Wrestling Observer that he's almost signed with the company and a deal is close but it's not quite finalized. Really, just a lot of rumors.

Now, there's speculation that that's changed and he'll be making an appearance on Monday Night Raw next week in Virginia.

Why? Because of these cryptic tweets:

Is it possible he finally signed and WWE is rushing to get him on television on the Battleground go home show? Sure. Anything is possible.

Is it likely?

No.

It's far more likely that July 14 will come and a simple announcement will be made regarding his involvement in the WWE 2K15 video game coming out in October. Remember, news got out not long ago that he was going to be a featured star, and now a formal announcement could be made.

Or it could have absolutely nothing to do with WWE at all.

Still, it's hard not to hope one of the biggest stars never to work for Vince McMahon is about to finally go to work for Vince McMahon.

Thoughts?

Backstage Heat On Batista Already? Details Behind Batista’s Tweet That Might Have a Feud With Del Rio

The verbal exchanges between Alberto Del Rio and Batista might have gone too far. PWInsider is reporting that there is some backstage heat on Batista after a tweet he posted. The tweet has since been deleted.

Del Rio cut a promo on Raw Monday saying he was tired of all the attention Batista was getting and vowed to eliminate him from the Rumble. This prompted Batista to respond on Twitter with the following:

Later, Del Rio posted a tweet taking a shot at Batista's MMA debut against Vince Lucero, a last-minute replacement fighter for Batista's original opponent.

Batista's next response is what PWInsider is reporting caused some heat backstage:

Batista tweeted: "Seems 2 me that some C level stars in a B level star era have bought into their own hype. Don't turn a work into a shoot. #realitycheck"

Again, that tweet has since been deleted. Word is that it's been a hot topic among WWE wrestlers this week. The general feeling is that Batista buried the entire locker room with that one tweet.

This situation is being compared to the time Triple H said The Undertaker was the only person in the WWE locker room that was worth of wrestling against him.

The report goes on to suggest that Batista's return had already ruffled a few feathers, simply due to him walking into a WrestleMania main event. His tweet simply exaggerated those feelings by some.

Batista is scheduled to return on the January 20th edition of WWE Raw and has already been announced for the Royal Rumble.

The Rock Reveals His Original Plans For WrestleMania XXX, When Might He Return?

The Rock did another #RockTalk chat on Twitter this afternoon. A fan asked him if he would be returning for WrestleMania XXX. Rock says he, Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar had plans for a Rock vs. Brock match in 2014 but that won't be happening. Rock added that there's a chance he will return for WrestleMania 31.

The Rock Gave LeBron the WWE Championship Belt for His Birthday

Yesterday was LeBron James’ 29th birthday. The current best basketball player in the world, of course, got a bunch of birthday greetings over social media, including messages from his teammate Dwyane Wade, Magic Johnson, a pair of headphones, and even our own Andy Gray.

But sorry, Dwyane, Magic, Andy, and Dr Dre’s headphones, the Rock topped all of you with this.

Now, it’s worth noting that The Rock isn’t the current WWE Champion — he lost the title to John Cena last April at Wrestlemania 29. Randy Orton — known as The Legend Killer — is the current WWE Champion. Perhaps we should have a LeBron James vs Randy Orton match to decide who is the undisputed WWE Champion once and for all.

Darren Young Comes Out Of The Closet: “I’M GAY”

WWE superstar Darren Young says publicly that he is gay.

Darren Young arrived at LAX, Los Angeles on Wednesday for SummerSlam PPV and was asked by TMZ that "if a gay wrestler could ever succeed in WWE."

To Which, Young laughed and said. “Absolutely. Look at me. I’m a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I’ll tell you right now, I’m gay. And I’m happy. I’m very happy.”

WWE Superstar Darren Young Comes Out -- I'm Gay

Currently his twitter bio says: As comfortable in the VIP section as he is in the ring, Darren Young’s life revolves around three things — money, women and wrestling.

Young later tweeted:
WWE Superstar Darren Young Comes Out, John Cena is Proud

Young is now the first openly gay wrestler in WWE and the first wrestler to come out publicly while he is still signed with them. Earlier when Orlando Jordan who was a part of WWE in 2003-2006 he was a bisexual by then. He told WWE creatives to use him in an bisexual storyline, to which WWE denied by saying that it would effect their companies image in the long run. Jordan later signed a nineteen months contract with TNA where they allowed him to debut in an bisexual storyline.

If your remember the former Canadian WWE wrestler Pat Patterson he was gay too. He was openly gay but he was told to keep it a secret by the company. He works for WWE as a creative consultant. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996. He is known as WWE's first Intercontinental Champion. In 1992, Patterson was accused of sexual harassment by former ring announcer Murray Hodgson and released from the company until the charges were dropped, when he was promptly rehired.

Backstage Heat on CM Punk over Tweets?

Is there backstage heat on former WWE champion CM Punk regarding some of his hockey tweets during a recent Raw? As crazy as it sounds, one recent report suggests this may be the case.

The problem apparently stems from the mediocre rating for the June 24 edition of Raw. As WrestleZone notes, the show garnered a dismal 2.9 rating, partly due to stiff competition from the Stanley Cup Final on NBC.

Now, as anyone who follows Punk on Twitter can tell you, the wrestler is a huge hockey fan. Indeed, much of his recent sabbatical was spent going to various high-profile hockey games around the country. The star even tweeted about a Boston Bruins vs. Chicago Blackhawks game live while it was ongoing.

As Dave Meltzer notes in this week's (subscribers-only) Wrestling Observer Newsletter, some in the company have even blamed Punk's tweeting for the low number:

Speaking of Punk, one person in the company commented that the 6/24 Raw rating was hurt partially due to Punk. It was said as in facetious in the sense we all know it means nothing but people in the company were talking like it did. The idea was that because he was tweeting so much about the Chicago Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup, and went to so many of their games, that it turned wrestling fans who weren’t hockey fans into NHL fans, and with how great the series was, it caught on.

Meltzer goes on to call the idea that Punk damaged the rating "pretty ridiculous" and it's difficult to argue.

It's rather obvious that those in power in WWE are looking for any excuse to explain the bad viewership number.

I mean, come on, who was going to switch over just because Punk was tweeting about how great the game was? It's laughably absurd. (Really, no celebrity has that much power over their followers, with the possible exception of Justin Bieber.)

Granted, Punk constantly talking up one of the company's competitors might not be the best idea, especially if he does it when Raw is actually airing. And that might be something for management to talk to the wrestler about.

But to claim a bunch of tweets affected Raw's ratings? Now, that's a stretch.

Fandango Engages in Funny Twitter Battle with a Soccer Team

Well, it appears that Fandango-mania has not caught on everywhere.

Everton Football Club did not cater to its fans by playing the much-requested Fandango theme during its football match against the Rangers FC on Saturday.

In case you are unaware, Fandango's theme is doing ridiculous business for iTunes in the UK. It has not only broken through the top 10, but by week’s end, it became the No. 2 most downloaded song overseas.

That being said, the team took to Twitter on Friday with the following message for its fans.

As soon as the WWE star got wind of this news, he decided to take charge and give his fans what they wanted. Unfortunately, the back-and-forth tweets have since been deleted.
Keep in mind, we are talking about a WWE entrance song that was not produced by a mainstream artist and a star who, up until WrestleMania, hadn’t wrestled a single match. Nonetheless, Fandango has become arguably one of the WWE's most popular wrestlers in less than a week.

Yes, he has been on TV for about a month now, but he really only came out to deny scheduled matches because his name was mispronounced. So it makes you wonder how WWE fans, including myself, got hooked on a persona who is, for all intents and purposes, a pompous ass.

The only thing I can think of is that this is a Vince McMahon creation, and it's not very often that McMahon misses the mark. The fact is, even into his late 60's, he is still arguably the most creative guy working for the WWE.

Yes, he has had his busts, but overall, when it comes to the wrestling biz, he really has his hands on the pulse of what fans want.

Ultimately, WWE needs to capitalize on Fandango's popularity and push him to the hilt before his act becomes stale. Otherwise, the company could very well have another Zack Ryder on its hands, and we all know how well that's working out.

In the end, Everton, in a way, eventually folded and played his theme prior to Saturday's match.

Dolph Ziggler Goes Toe-to-Toe with Arnold Schwarzenegger Via Twitter

That's right folks, it appears we have another Twitter war on our hands.

As "The Show-Off" Dolph Ziggler took to Twitter Friday night with the following:

To which The Governator replied:
Seems innocent enough, right?

Well guess again, things got heated pretty quick when Ziggler responded:

Overall, I have to believe this war of words was staged. For starters, Schwarzenegger has history with the company. Back in 1999, Schwarzenegger was promoting his latest flick "End of Days". Part of the promotion included an appearance on SmackDown, where he received a replica WWE title and took to commentary for the main-event .

Since then, "The Terminator" took time off from movies and focused on a political career. Now, coincidentally he has a new book entitled "Total Recall"to promote and what easier way, than utilizing social media and getting involved in a Twitter was.

Not only is it a cheap way of advertising, but it gets people like me writing about it.

Another reason that I feel this is staged, was due to Schwarzenegger's responses. Not only were some of them witty, but he appeared to know who Ziggler was. Which to me is surprising, considering I highly doubt he is tuning in weekly to watch Raw or SmackDown.

Ultimately, real or not, as promised Arnold is back and could be in WWE TV to end this battle and of course promote. Who knows, he may even be on the short list of potential Social Media Ambassador's for the company.

In the end, this is all just speculation, so if nothing comes of it at least this hopefully made for some good content.

Paul Heyman Teases Return with Brock Lesnar Via Twitter

With the three-hour Raw well underway, the evil genius Paul Heyman has been all over Twitter and posted the following tweet.
Heyman and Lesnar have been absent from WWE TV for several weeks now and recent reports have claimed that Lesnar is in the doghouse. Whether that is true remains to be seen. Many claims around the web have suggested that Vince McMahon was none to pleased with Lesnar's attendance at a recent UFC match.

The fact is, even if that's the case it's safe to say Lesnar's return to date has been a bit of a bust. I get that in order to sign him they had to give him a limited schedule, but Brock isn't The Rock.

Essentially, you went from a year of promoting "The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment" to a former UFC champion that has the charisma of a fruit fly. Don't get me wrong, the WWE was smart by rehiring Lesnar.

However, they have failed in the execution.

I guess time will tell as to what the WWE has in store for Lesnar; until then we can only speculate.

Chris Jericho and William Regal Have War of Words Via Twitter

Here we go again. Two parties that are either playing with each other online to see how fans react or scorned co-wokers with different views.

Either way, Twitter has given wrestlers from the past and present an opportunity to air out some dirty laundry.

It seems to me, almost every week, I am hopping onto B/R and writing about a Twitter feud between wrestlers hating on wrestlers, hating on WWE or TNA, or hating on celebrities.

Ultimately, the feuds last a few weeks at most and then fade into obscurity just in time for a new one to begin. So for those of you that have grown tired of Scott Steiner's rants about Hogan, Bischoff, and TNA, this one is for you.

Over the weekend, Y2J, took to Twitter and posted the following:

If you are wondering what Methuselah means, don't bother looking it up, I have done the research for you.

According to Wikipedia.com, "Methuselah is the oldest person whose age is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. Extra-biblical tradition maintains that he died on the 11th of Cheshvan of the year 1656, at the age of 969"

Yes, the reference is a bit dated and inside, but it still caught the eye of its intended recipient as William Regal responded.

However, this was not the end of the exchange as you can see below:

Regal did respond, however his tweet was a bit longer than the 140 characters that Twitter allows. Ultimately, I had to pull  his response from TwitLonger.com, which does not allow for embedding. Unfortunately, you will just see it in quotes:

While the likes of Chris Jerico and some of his worthless friends make a big production of passing the torch,I just do as I always do without fanfare and truly encourage, train and mentor the younger talent. How dare I call help without getting credit heaped on me.Shame,regal,Shame.

Ultimately, these two could just be ribbing each other. However, there is some truth behind Regal's last statement as he truly has been putting people over silently for most of his career and it's gone virtually unnoticed, while many others have been given props by fans for coming back to help out the future.

Granted, Regal's career pales in comparison to that of Jericho, but it doesn't change the fact that Regal is good for the business and the future of the WWE. Unfortunately, we may never learn the reasoning behind this online spar, but it did give us some insight into the career of William Regal.
