Undertaker return, AJ Styles injury, Cena schedule, Lawler status, more!

- Undertaker was backstage at Raw in Austin last night, and it’s likely he’ll not only be at SmackDown in Houston tonight, but will appear on the show for the first time since the Survivor Series ‘go home’ show last month.

- AJ Styles was pulled from the Dec. 5 house show in Tyler, Texas as a precaution following his ankle injury at TLC, but he’s still expected to work his match against James Ellsworth on tonight’s SmackDownbroadcast.

- Wrestling Observer is the latest to report on WWE’s increasing concern they may not have a lot of John Cena’s time in 2017 due to his TV and film commitments.

- Jerry Lawler’s only contract with WWE right now is a Legends deal. He’ll continue to work special events like the Hall of Fame ceremony, but won’t be on an announcer or pre-show host going forward, per 411mania.

- On the subject of pre-shows, both the regular pre-Raw and SmackDownones were cut to 10 minutes this week.

What to Expect from the Jerry Lawler Exclusive Raw Interview Next Week

With the announcement that Jerry “The King” Lawler will be interviewed next week on Monday Night Raw, the belief is that the veteran wrestler and commentator is on the fast track to a full recovery from his heart attack.

After finding out that Lawler had returned home, the WWE Universe was ecstatic to learn that the color commentator would be appearing on Raw next Monday to speak about the incident and how he is doing now.

The appearance is almost guaranteed to be via video, but the fact that the man is even appearing on television at all just weeks after suffering a heart attack live on the air should act as an inspiration to people everywhere.

Lawler will almost certainly be live via video, but unlike The Rock, The King has a good excuse.

As hard as it will be to hear, Cole and King will relive the moments leading up to the heart attack and commend the paramedics that saved Lawler’s life.  As many people have said, the veteran commentator was lucky to suffer the heart attack where he did because medical officials were attending to him immediately.

The hope from the WWE Universe is that Lawler will give an update on his medical condition and the treatments and procedures he has undergone to get back to health. With a return to Memphis, Lawler is already proving that he is on the path to full health.

Of everything The King can say next Monday, what the fans want to know the most is when the color commentator can return to work.

There have been many opinions thrown around, but until we hear the actual timetable for a recovery from the man himself, the WWE Universe should reserve judgment. Lawler will be back as soon as he can, but he must make sure he is as close to 100 percent as he can be before returning.

Whenever The King returns to the WWE in a working capacity—we’re hoping to learn the timetable during his appearance on Raw next week—the first change that must be made is the fact that Lawler is still in matches.

As healthy as he is for 62 years old, the risk far outweighs the reward, and Lawler must retire from in-ring action.

The next change for the veteran color commentator would come via his work schedule. As much as the fans have loved Lawler on Raw for all these years, allowing him to work SmackDown would afford him the chance to work only one day per week.

Many fans will take this as a demotion, but if paired with Jim Ross on the SmackDown announce table, the duo could bring validity to the company’s secondary show. Add in the fact that Lawler would have the benefit of the show being edited, and the move should be a no-brainer for WWE.

That would leave Michael Cole and possibly John Bradshaw Layfield running Raw.

While these changes may hurt Lawler’s feelings, the WWE must think as a business first and foremost. The WWE Universe witnessed this man have a heart attack on live television, and that proves it is necessary to drastically change how Lawler is handled.

Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole at WWE Over the Limit 2011

Michael Cole can certainly boast about the silly undefeated streak he maintains by facing WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler, but the sniveling announcers competition with The King has never really been about wins and losses. Considering that, the start, its represented all about embarrassment. From insulting Lawlers late mother to mistreating his close friend Jim Ross, Cole has performed almost everything in his meager power to take down his longtime broadcast co worker. But all the backstabbing and name calling will come to a head at WWE Over the Limit when the two competitors encounter one more time with Lawler's Hall of Fame-hood in the equilibrium Cole's for the taking.

Cole and Lawler always have switched over spoken pokings in the announce stall, but matters became physical on the Nov. 29 edition of Raw when the fearful Cole cost The King his WWE Championship Match up against The Miz. It was a thornless motion, but the self proclaimed "Spokesperson of WWE" was unrepentant regarding his actions. In the weeks that came after, the blusterer constantly junked Lawler while hiding from his rival inside a particularly built stall he nicknamed "The Cole Mine."

It was all very exacerbating to the WWE Hall of Famer, but Lawler ultimately acquired the chance to close his challengers mouth at WrestleMania XVII when the dual gentlemen encountered in a round functioned by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. By using a unsafe Jack Swagger following his back, Cole came in the ring overconfident as always and was snapped to shreds by The King. Right after the pipsqueak tapped out to an ankle lock, it appeared as though justice had been served well. So therefore, at the final minute, the anonymous Raw GM relayed a message claiming Cole the winner via disqualification a consequence of Austin becoming personally active in the action.

Eventhough he was technically the victor, Cole should have been humiliated by the brutal whipping he experienced. Or else, he only developed more egomaniacal. Openly boasting his undefeated WrestleMania streak, the sleazeball went as far as to announce himself royalty and even took part in a bogus knighting ceremony while Raw was in London. If server has gone away that server has gone away wasnt server has gone away disgusting server has gone away enough server has gone away , server has gone away Cole server has gone away and server has gone away his server has gone away flunky server has gone away Swagger server has gone away beat down server has gone away Lawlers server has gone away old server has gone away friend server has gone away Jim server has gone away Ross server has gone away after server has gone away the server has gone away enthronement server has gone away and server has gone away pressured server has gone away him server has gone away to server has gone away kiss server has gone away Coles server has gone away feet server has gone away . server has gone away.

That awful routine concluded in a Country Whipping Match pitting Cole & Swagger facing Lawler & J.R. at Extreme Rules on May 1. Once again, Coles flabby, pale physical structure was soured black and blue by his annoyed challengers and their leather whips. And once again he pulled off to worm his out with a triumph when he rolled up a diverted Ross for the gain.

Relying on his ego at an all time in high spirits, Cole proceeded to showboat like a man who in reality accomplished something. The disrespect was too much for The King to select and the challenge for a hit at Over the Limit was shed down, yet if it was to mean giving up his Hall of Fame ring to Cole in the consequence he'd lose.

Randy Orton Reportedly Upset With WWE WrestleMania Matches

Randy Orton is upset with his Wrestlemania 27 match position. The last matches which included Cole/Lawler, Triple H/Undertaker, 8 man tag match and Cena/Miz were used to end Wrestlemania and his match with CM Punk was not amongst them. According to Randy Orton his feud with CM Punk lead the heat on Raw and the house shows for Wrestlemania.

Arn Anderson informed Orton before Wrestlemania that his match with CM Punk was trimmed down time wise and it really upset Orton.

Randy Orton also agrees that Triple H vs. Undertaker and John Cena vs. The Miz was the match which had fan interest and made lot of money so it had to be ahead of him, but Orton also believe that 8 man tag match and Cole vs. Lawler match didn't require that much attention as compared to what Orton and CM Punk did on Raw before Wrestlemania.
