Should Hulk Hogan Return to the Ring Against Bully Ray?

Hulk Hogan is arguably the biggest icon in professional wrestling history. It can also be argued that Hogan is and will forever be the biggest attendance draw in the history of sports entertainment. Despite reaching the top of the mountain many times throughout his historic career, Hogan may not just yet be ready to call it quits inside the ring.

Instead, the 59-year-old may bring the magic of "Hulkamania" back to TNA one last time.

With TNA's biggest pay-per-view of the year arriving in October, Hogan could find himself in another match at Bound for Glory against current World Heavyweight champion Bully Ray. The biggest question heading into Bound for Glory remains unclear.

Should TNA allow Hogan to step back inside the four-sided ring and compete against Ray?

This could certainly stir up a massive debate, as both sides of the argument could develop very good answers on whether Hogan should wrestle once more. Currently, Hogan is at the tail end of his career. While you shouldn't expect the biggest name in professional wrestling to wander into the sunset so quickly, it is quite clear that Hogan's body may not be able to take one more match.

However, a return to the ring by Hogan could generate more buzz about TNA, both good and bad. It would create excitement among wrestling fans who want "Hulkamania" to battle it out one more time. A return inside the ring could also disgust those who are tired of seeing Hogan in the spotlight.

In hindsight, Hogan should stay away from the ring and continue his role as the general manager of Impact! Wrestling. Despite the fact that his last match resulted in a loss to Sting last year at Bound for Glory, Hogan could certainly see another day to battle inside the ring. Hogan's top priorities should be his health and helping grow TNA to the next step as a premiere company professional wrestling.

Yet for Hogan, time may be quickly running out for one last chance at a final run competing in the ring, as his age progression and health may be a deciding factor in the future.

For TNA, the decision to put Hogan back in the ring is a difficult one. Despite all the attention the company may receive, it would only be a short-term situation before fan interest wanders after Hogan's potential final match. Meanwhile, for Hogan, should he really put himself in the spotlight, or save a final match for more meaningful occasion? It is a decision that wrestling fans await.

Turning Point Is Over, How Will the Results Affect the Future of Impact Wrestling

photo : impactwrestling

Did anybody anticipate an offbeat conclusion from Turning Point? Go ahead, raise your hands—its approve, we won't snicker.

Without a doubt, Turning Point could have been a predictable PPV, but it was nothing to keep in touch with home about, nothing to inch toward getting excited about.

Indeed, we saw Bobby Roode hold his TNA World Title and Gail Kim take the Knockouts Title from Velvet Sky, but those things were predictable. Damages, unfavorable wanting and an inadequacy to business spearheaded to those conclusions.

The PPV merited a "C+" on an evaluating scale. But also we had a desire to see more.

Now comes the critical issue of holding up until Thursday to sort it hard and fast.

Here is what we know, or regardless think we know—TNA still requires a horse shelter burner of the update, something that raises the top and hits the masses with one huge figure pummel.

Bobby Roode keeping the title is an exceptional thing as of this moment, resulting from the fact that he could probably keep onto it for a brief period of time for James Storm to benefit then afterward fight like no one's business. And then in the way, we would be able to see growth in stars like a Crimson or Matt Morgan, a Pope or probably someone similar to a Kazarian.

We should see more folks stride up and test.

With respect to the Knockouts Division, I possess no issue with Gail Kim winning gold, since she is an amazing talent. I do, yet, scorn to see Velvet Sky keep the title for less than a month and after that give up it. And then I surely would like to see Mickie James pull it back onto her waist.

Goodness, Melina, where it is safe to say that you are at what point we require you? Where is ODB? Hellfire, Lacey Von Erich could work for me besides.

What we require is a pure duty by imaginative to keep the proposed titles on the present champions for a touch and sort every last item out so there are suitable quarrels that "matter" to this community.

But also cheerfully a terrific development to Final Resolution.

Why Beer Money Inc. Was Broken Too Soon

On the November 3rd release of TNA Impact! (WATCH) Lager Money Inc. split up following Roode vanquished Storm and won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. It was not a perfect win, however, as Roode hit Storm with a brewskie container, which in actuality turned Roode heel and split up Beer Money Inc.

Even though none, of these wrestler is a stranger to the singles division, I can’t accommodate but feel like they were split up too soon as a tag group. The crew had fabulous in ring science and worked blatantly well on the mic as one unit. Anyway most importantly, their contention with The Motor City Machine Guns confirmed that tag crew contentions absolutely ought to not be a thing of the past.

It is no secret that tag group wrestling is not centered on the same amount in present modern times, but Beer Money Inc. notwithstanding Motor City Machine Guns made you center on them. There was no denying the science the proposed a few groups had. When these four men walked into the ring you knew you were determined to get your cash worth.

These a few crews have wrestled on various events but it never blatantly felt similar to their contention reached a closure, rather it couldn't escape the feeling that it had just unequivocally started. However with Beer Money Inc. now outdated tragically we won’t be seeing the aforementioned four men square off in the ring again, unless it were to be a four-method match.

The splitting up of the group Beer Money Inc. could be useful for their singles lifework but it is disagreeable news for the tag crew division and I can’t assist but feel like it happened a small too soon. They might of done so far additional as a tag group, but now it feels prefer they have alternately been surged into the prevailing occasion opening.

Notwithstanding it isn’t as basic as reuniting them any place down the line, since I am not positive assuming that it might work a remarkable same. I think TNA did was senseless and split this group up before they might as well of.

More On The IMPACT! Rating + Bellator Star To TNA

- Regarding the TNA iMPACT! rating, which was down from last week. The Jersey Shore was a re-run, the college game on ESPN only did 1.9 million viewers and there was no nationally televised NFL competition. Add into the fact that TNA was taped on the road (which costs more), Hulk Hogan was prominent on the show and they headlined with Sting and Kurt Angle. With all of that, it is not considered to be a good sign that the rating dropped from 1.6 million viewers last week to 1.4 million viewers this week.

- Bellator's Eddie Alvarez will be on TNA iMPACT! next week, hyping the next season of Bellator Fighting Championships on MTV2.

- The USA To Africa Pro Wrestling Mission debuts in October, with Bill Goldberg headlining. Also appearing will be George Foreman, Laila Ali and Jean Claude Van Damme. The big event on the tour will be the October 12th Rumble in the Jungle II in Kinshasa, Congo. At this time, there will be both a PPV and DVD releases of the show, as well as a feature film planned of the event.

Tommy Dreamer set to make his return to TNA?

ECW star, and perennial weeper, Tommy Dreamer has made some rather interesting comments on his Twitter account recently regarding his wrestling career, and has strongly hinted a return to TNA/Impact Wrestling/whatever name they're going by this month is in his future.

Having a fun time in Nashville, TN now getting ready to have an IMPACTFUL meeting. The result if all goes well could last till Xmas

I had a great time @ the TNA fantasy NFL Draft @jeffjarretttna has the nicest house. @karenjarrett makes it a home. Thanks 2 both bigtime.

About as subtle as a shovel to the face.

So, is Dreamer returning to TNA?

It remains to be seen what use TNA can have for Tommy Dreamer at this point. He's past his prime as a wrestler, and has very limited uses as a character (his character is basically a middle-aged wannabe MMA fighter who cries a lot about ECW and how great things used to be in wrestling). Dreamer's first TNA stint was, by all accounts, a giant flop. As the leader of EV2, he was supposed to be a babyface for most of his run, but came off as so whiny and insufferable that many fans found themselves cheering Immortal when they instigated heavy beatdowns on Dreamer and friends on a weekly basis on iMPACT.

Hey, this was the same guy who showed up on TNA television in the summer of 2010, slamming Vince McMahon for handing out big checks and bringing in all the old ECW guys (the nerve!). Dreary Dreamer then berated WWE for forcing him to stand back and do nothing as they fired all his (ECW alumni) friends "one by one," only to watch the loyal and kind-hearted TNA, well, fire all his friends (Stevie Richards, Sandman, Rhyno) "one by one" as he stood back and silently watched.

Dreamer apparently had some creative influence at first when Dixie Carter thought ECW nostalgia was the key to turning around business (note: it wasn't), but it faltered over time and his profile on television sank. Eventually, he followed the lead of the other EV2 guys and amicably left the company when his contract expired earlier this year.

Frankly, I hope Dreamer is simply talking about taking on a backstage role in TNA. At a time when fans are resentful of older stars hogging the spotlight and are practically salivating for fresh faces to get pushed, Dreamer returning to TNA in an on-screen role may be the last thing the struggling promotion needs.

Jeff Hardy announces his return

Jeff Hardy announced on his Twitter account that he will be returning to TNA this Thursday in Huntsville, AL.
"Ok it's official...time to go back2work!," wrote Hardy. "I will be in Huntsville,AL this Thursday with ImpactWrestling!!!!"

This comes on the heels of brother Matt Hardy's DWI arrest this past Saturday. We noted earlier that North Carolina state trooper B.J. Smith indicated that Hardy was not drunk, but "appeared to have taken some type of impairing substance" at the time of his crash and subsequent arrest. TMZ.com posted Matt Hardy's mugshot stemming from his arrest, and it seems pretty clear that he was not sober, which you can view by clicking here. Hardy submitted to a blood test, results of which are currently pending.

TNA promptly terminated Matt Hardy's contract following the arrest. He had already been on suspension, reportedly due to tardiness at live events. He had not appeared for the organization since May 30. Hardy is due to appear in court Sept. 28.

Meanwhile, Jeff Hardy has been on suspension with the organization since being unable to perform in the main event of the Victory Road PPV in March. He will be back in a Moore County, North Carolina courtroom on September 8th for charges stemming from a September 2009 arrest. He is charged with the following offenses:
  • Conspiracy to traffic opium

  • Trafficking in opium by possession

  • Possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance

  • Felony possession of cocaine

  • Felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for using controlled substances

  • Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia

Goldberg vs. Crimson in TNA by the end of this year?

TNA has been hyping and pushing Crimson for about eight months, his having won all of his matches, including an MMA exhibition against Double J in December and his defeat of three of Immortal’s baddest men last Thursday night.

Crimson is the top dog in the Bound For Glory Series and appears unstoppable.

He seems destined for the top title of his company, despite the main-event presence of Sting and Hulk Hogan. Who does that sound like?

Goldberg. That’s who.

An unstoppable force in WCW, Goldberg has won renown for his famous 173-0 streak, considered the second-most impressive unbeaten streak in history (behind the 15-year run of Andre the Giant). Goldberg is an icon in this business whether you want to admit it or not.

When you look at it, Goldberg and Crimson are similar in many ways.

Wrestling was a second career for both after a very manly first. (Crimson is an Iraq veteran, Goldberg was a pro football player.)

Size-wise they are not too far apart as they are both in the 6’4"-6’6", 250-300 pound range. They both look the part and have notable tattoos.

Both are actually good wrestlers, too, in spite of the basic assumptions.

If you do not believe me, look here, where you will see Goldberg challenge Steven Regal in a near shoot match or here to see Goldberg challenge Glacier and show off his skills. Proof of Crimson’s skills can be seen here against Magnus.

The obvious link is Vince Russo, who is trying to make Crimson into a new Goldberg.

But, as my title suggested, he may not need to. According to Wrestling News World, a feud may soon occur.

Crimson tweeted to Goldberg about his military experience, while Goldberg retorted by questioning who he was. Add this to Goldberg's stating that he will come back to wrestling soon, and we may get a confrontation between the two, which would be interesting.

So, the question becomes, "What would the match consist of?"

It would not be a mat classic, which I can assure. I doubt Goldberg would be up to it, and relying on Crimson’s ability to carry a match would be unwise.

However, I don't think it'll suck.

They have enough talent and strength to hobble together an entertaining, three-star match.

I honestly think Goldberg would dominate most of the match, but Crimson would eventually win. This may seem unlikely to you, but I think Goldberg understands enough about the business to know that it would not suit TNA to have Crimson lose to him on the first go-around.

Plus, it would be more interesting for Goldberg to chase for the win over Crimson, pushing Goldberg and getting him acclimated to all of the fans that have come in over the last seven years.

But do I think it is a wise move overall?

Honestly, no.

It is pro wrestling’s dirty secret that TNA isn’t well off financially, and this move would cost too much and not have the results TNA wants (a.k.a. ratings) because if Hogan couldn’t cause a spike, no man truly can.

But, we will see it; this is Russo we are talking about here.

Let us hope for the best.

Good. Bad. I’m the guy with the voice.

8/8/11 TNA Impact Wrestling/TNA Xplosion TV taping spoilers

Tonight was the first television taping since the Hardcore Justice pay-per-view the night before. The crowd was surprising full with actual TNA fans and just a few "seat fillers" from the park. The crowd tonight also seemed to be much more into the show than the crowd last night for Hardcore Justice.

Dark Match
1. Jerry Lynn beat Jason Siphon.
Lynn won via a nice flying cross body from the top rope. This is the first I’ve seen of Siphon, my guess is that this was a workout match for the TNA brass, and since Lynn was in town for that awful RVD angle last night; he was asked to have a match with this kid.

Jason Syphon was not awe inspiring, but impressive. He is small in stature, but with a nice build and large upper body. He worked the match hard and didn’t seem to be intimidated with Lynn. His timing was good and he seemed to know how and when to work the crowd. I assume he is going to be put into the X Division as a heel. He plays more of an angry heel compared to Austin Aries' cocky persona and I think will be a good addition to the X-division in the coming months.

TNA Impact Taping
Immortal opens the show by coming to the ring. Abyss, Mr. Anderson, Steiner, Bully Ray, and Gunner. The segment starts with Bully Ray calling out Abyss and telling him he’s on thin ice. Then Bully turns to Anderson and gives him props for the hard fought match they had at Hardcore Justice and says that he sees now why Anderson is and should be in Immortal. He then says that the feud is over and goes to shake hands with Anderson.

Anderson then punches Bully Ray and starts to drive him down into the corner, as the other members of Immortal try to break it up, Anderson also attacks them; until Immortal gang jumps him and eventually hold him up for Bully to hit Anderson with his chain wallet. At this time, security (former wrestlers) comes down and gets Immortal out of the ring. Anderson is then put in a neck brace and wheeled out on a stretcher as the crowd chants "Anderson, Anderson."

My Take: This was a good segment because it got Anderson out of Immortal. The fans didn’t really buy that he would or did join Immortal and I think this was the company backing out of that mistake. The injury seemed obviously part of the Angle.

1. Mickie James beat Madison Rayne.
This was a short match, it ended when Mickie James took Madison's Tiara and mimics Rayne and then uses Madison's angry charge against her for the win.

My Take: It was a decent match. Madison Rayne is to small and weak to ever be a serious main event Knockout, but I love her heel character and she plays to the crowd better than any other Knockout. She could have a long career of losing to women who just lost the title. Mickie had a good match. She seems more comfortable against opponents who are smaller than her, but she got a lot of heat from the crowd and is a fan favorite.

2. Brian Kendrick beat Robbie E (w/Cookie).
Kendrick is loved by the TNA fans and gets great heat as he comes to the ring. Robbie and Cookie have an amusing back and forth thrughout the match, which culminates with Cookie trying to spray Kendrick with hairspray. He ducks and Robbie gets it, which Kendrick turns into the victory.

My Take: Kendrick is awkward in the ring. He has some amazing moves, but he also can be super boring to watch. His best skill is getting beaten up as he is a great seller. His baby face character almost comes across as a moron the way he sways and bobbles around. As for Robbie, he is talented in the ring, I don’t love his character, but he plays it very well.

They announced Earl Hebner as the senior official. The crowd was a split reaction.

I know this is not news, but I want to use this to push a problem I have with the officials in TNA. I know Earl Hebner is a legend and was the referee for more big matches than I can count, but the officials in TNA don’t help the product at all. Hebner's son is way to worried about getting in the spotlight and seems to be officiating every time there is a ref bump and is way to quick to get in and manhandle the talent. I also noticed Earl Hebner argues and yells at the wrestlers, which you could say he has earned that right, but at the core the referees are supposed to small skinny guys who count to three and make the wrestlers in the ring look larger than life. TNA would be wise to get some guys who can accomplish this.

3. Beer Money defeated Devon & The Pope, and AJ Styles & Rob Van Dam in a three-way Bound For Glory Series match.
This was a three-way tag Bound for Glory Match, although they didn’t announce the scoring, so I don’t know if the winning team got points or just the winner wrestler. The match was fast paced and exciting. Several double team moves and a great top rope move by AJ Styles. The match ended when Devon (going for Roode) hit Pope with a top rope move. Roode pinned Pope. After the match, Pope and Devon seemed to have a new found respect for each other and leave the area together.

My Take: So much for the Bound for Glory being a fair and balanced tournament (more on this in the main event!). The one thing this match did do was set up Devon and Pope as a tag team. This is good for Devon as I feel his days were numbered as a singles wrestler. You can only shoulder block and body slam so much in a one-on-one match. I think Pope would be a great fit with him and I see them becoming a really good tag team in TNA should the angle go that way.

Kurt Angle comes out with a chair and basically says he had to take Sting out with the chair because an "informant" told him that Dixie Carter knew about Jeff and Karen, and lied to him about everything. Kurt says his goal is to see that Dixie never gets her company back.

As he leaves the ring, Sting is waiting on the ramp with a baseball bat, which he uses to beat on the chair Angle has and knock it out of his hand. As Sting is getting ready to hit Angle with the bat, Hogan attacks from behind and takes out Sting. Angle then gets back on the mic to say that Hogan is his informant. Hogan then continues to beat Sting in the ring and the segment ends. All the while, Hogan gets nothing but love from the live audience.

My Take : TNA has some great talent, but it’s not in their writing department. This was a confusing and not so believable heel turn for Angle. In fact at one point So Cal Val had to get the "Angle Sucks" chant started. To be honest, this whole Immortal and Dixie Carter thing just doesn’t do it for me at all. If she’s the one that devised bringing in Bischoff and doing this whole thing; I don’t want her to get the company back anyway. Angle still has some matches left in him, and people love Sting, but he proved last night he is just getting old and the pace of the main event at Hardcore Justice proved it.

The overriding feeling of this segment is that Hogan is still wildly popular! The crowd went nuts for him. I don’t understand who’s brilliant idea it was to make him a heel!! He tries so hard to get booed, but can’t, and after a reality show and all the interviews as Terry, we all know he’s a good guy and so we don’t buy the heel thing at all. I say if your going to pay all the money for Hogan (which I’m sure it does mean ratings) why not get the Hulkster and all the Hulkamaniacs that come with his baby face character.

It’s like paying a bunch of money for John Mayer to play your wedding, then when he shows up your like, no just play guitar, we don’t need you to sing. How about Dixie hires Hogan to get the company back and since he is to broken to wrestle, he has to recruit all the young babyfaces to help him take down Immortal. Then you have a Hogan vs. Bischoff or even better Hogan vs. Flair thing going. Now wouldn’t that be more fun to watch. But, of course, that ship has sailed and we are stuck cheering for the bad guy. Oh yeah, Angle’s a heel now, but they didn’t say if he joined Immortal.

4. Tara and Miss Tessmacher beat Jackie and ODB. Jackie and ODB
spent most of the match stoping each other from breaking the rules. All 4 women were impressive and seemed to have good chemistry. The match ended when Jackie and ODB were distraught from breaking a rule and Tessmacher used the distraction to get the win.

My Take: Jackie and Tara are both strong wrestlers and Tessmacher looks better in wrestling tights than any wrestler ever has. I am really impressed with ODB though. She is probably more athletic than all the other women in the ring and the strongest. At one point in the match, she manhandles Tara with pure power. She anticipates well and embraces her ugly badass character. She is a force.

Video Promo for Mr. Spectacular. He is a Mr. Perfect/Miz style heel that thinks he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. X Division?

5. Crimson defeated Gunner, Bully Ray, and Scott Steiner in a four-way Bound For Glory Series match.
The match started with Bully Ray and Crimson in the ring. Before they touch, Bully tags in Gunner. Crimson beats on Gunner, then Bully is tagged in again, but tags in Steiner before he locks up with Crimson. Crimson pinned Gunner without Bully ever getting involved in the match.

My Take: This, as with the earlier BFG Series match, just takes some of the wind out of the tournaments sails as we all know now that TNA will manipulate the tourney to have it fit in their story rather than drive their stories as it should. It was not a great main event. It would have been a good match halfway up the card. I was glad TNA kept Crimson's unbeaten streak alive. It would have been a cheap way for him to lose and I hope they have better plans for it than that. Speaking of Crimson, he is still really green, but he has a super bright future. He sells well, he also has great flow and timing and he uses the situation he is given to perform a move where I feel much of TNA try too hard to set up a situation for a move they want to do. Crimson will be a Heavyweight Champ in the next year or two.

TNA Xplosion Taping

1. Alex Shelley defeated Douglas Williams.
Shelley won by pinfall. Maybe the match of the night. It was kind of a work the crowd match, which was weird since it was last on the card, but obviously not for the show it will air on. The match had some good mat wrestling and some high flying moves.

My Take : Douglas Williams is a true pro. He sells well and has a very large bag of moves he can break out at any time. I could see the combination of him and Magnus being the only real competition as far as in ring ability to challenge Beer Money. Alex Shelley does some good things, but much like Brian Kendrick is he not inventive enough for me and can sometimes take what seems like hours between moves where he seems to be thinking not about the moment he is in, but about how to set up for hitting one of his signature crowd pleasers. He needs to stop winking at the crowd and get his head in the game. He has the talent, but may be better off as a tag team partner.

Amazing Red has been released from TNA

Earlier today Johnathan Figueroa, known by his ring name "Amazing Red," wrote the following on his Twitter wall:

"Heys Guyz, I just wanted to let Ya kno 1st...TNA & I parted ways do to the 'creative has nothing for you' line, so we r gonna future endeavor each other right now. Thanks to my @ImpactWrestling famo & fans... Now 'On to the Next one' (Jay-Z)"

Amazing Red was one of the original TNA X-Division champions and held one half of the NWA Tag Team Champion belts (in TNA that is) along with his partner Jerry Lynn, before his first departure in 2005.

Since returning to TNA he won the X-Division title quickly, defeating Samoa Joe for the belt. He would go on to win it one more time before TNA decided to use him sparingly, normally as a jobber to push others.

He was also being booked as another character, Sangriento, a masked luchador from Mexico.

His last match was at Destination X, where he fought, unsuccessfully, to reclaim the TNA X-Division title.

I personally, am sad to see him go. He was a great talent and the type of guy the X-Division should be built around. (I just don't get the X-Division feel for Brian Kendrick.)

There are no reports yet if TNA is going to abandon the Sangriento character, but I don't know if anyone could do it as well as Amazing Red.

Red has worked for Ring of Honor, Jersey All-Pro Wrestling and Chikara, to name a few, and had good showings in all three. Hopefully we will see him again real soon.

This is yet another release of a young TNA talent, a thing that is becoming very familiar. So far, the Young Bucks, Orlando Jordan, Jay Lethal and Amazing Red are just a few of the top young guys leaving TNA. With reports of hostility backstage between the young guys and the veterans, we may see this trend continuing.

As for Amazing Red, I wish him the best of luck. For the few years you were back with TNA, you truly were Amazing.

Max Buck, of Generation ME (aka The Young Bucks), reacted with the following:

"Within a year, you've now lost (Jay Lethal), (Jeremy Buck), (Max Buck), & (Amazing Red). C'mon now."

Red wrote in the response, "Weird huh, (X-Division run)."

Sting vs. Kurt Angle could be one of the best PPV match of all times

Courtesy : ImpactWrestling.com

Now that a battle line has been drawn in the center of the ring, can the fans of Impact Wrestling and the IWC now concentrate not only on Hardcore Justice on August 8, but also on the featured match between Kurt Angle and the world heavyweight champion, Sting?

Not only is TNA moving forward again with what appears to be a great list of competitors on the card, the creative team has put together a match of iconic proportions that could rival any match on a PPV since the creation of Hulkamania.

I know, take a breath and gather yourselves on that one. It is a stretch, but it has the makings of being something for the ages. Even the Undertaker in his many matches at WrestleMania would have a hard time topping this one.

Think of this as a better version of Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels (yes, I said that).

For Sting, it is another way to continue his legacy as “The Icon,” no matter how bizarre he has become with his “Joker” persona and his creative, yet insane, antics in the ring. Sting is still fighting the good fight for in trying to gain control of TNA for Dixie Carter. Eric Bischoff, Hulk Hogan and Immortal have something to say about that. But right now, it is Sting who is in control, having beat Mr. Anderson July 14.

Ironically, it was Angle who helped make that happen. The former world title holder and Olympic champion told Sting he helped him win the title because, “It was the right thing to do and I am all about doing the right thing.”

The two “faces” may have teamed against Bully Ray and Mr. Anderson last week on Impact and were victories, but things were not rosy in the ring, as Angle has made his feelings well known about Sting, his new act, and the fight to rid TNA of the “cancer” that is Hogan and Bischoff. All Angle cares about is winning the title and looking toward the Olympics.

Sting “appears” to be focused on his opponent, the man who has never beaten him, and the fact he may catch more heat from Immortal before Hardcore Justice. He also knows he may not have Angle watching his back when things get hot in the ring.

The assembly of clowns during the July 14 Midsummer’s Nightmare event was brilliant, with members of Fortune helping Sting take out members of Immortal. This was compounded by the final clown in the act being Angle who got into the ring and took down Bully Ray before Anderson was pinned.

There are 15 days until the PPV, which means two more live shows on Thursday night before the PPV. A lot can happen in that time; most notably, conflict from Immortal and more confrontation between the two. This also could have an impact on the brand like a Daniels vs. A.J. Styles would have in the X-Division or within Fortune.

And there is no telling what will happen.

If TNA wants this match to continue to help build the reputation of the company, and it needs to, then they need to be aware of the outside surroundings that may not be related to TNA.

WWE is riding a new wave. The changes there are meant to create buzz and a new style. We may see a new “Attitude” up north. TNA must play on its current progress and success. PPV events have been solid. Television shows have been outstanding. And a match between two icons with over 25 world titles between them could be and should be EPIC!

If not, then the concept TNA has been working toward slips down a drain quicker than Jeff Hardy’s last title match.

Kevin Nash is unhappy with the current WWE status

According to examiner.com, "Big Daddy Cool" is none too pleased with his lack of TV time.

As some of you may remember, Nash was slated to return to TNA as part of the Main Event Mafia  until an offer from the WWE came through prior to the Royal Rumble. The WWE came to Nash with the most lucrative legends contract to date.

Many fans assumed Nash would appear on TV more often, as is the case for many that have returned to the Royal Rumble. However, six months in and "Big Sexy" is still sitting on the sidelines.

According to the article, "Nash's appearance at the Royal Rumble was highly praised and cheered wildly by the WWE Universe. Additionally, Nash had a brief encounter with The Big Show that many hoped would turn into an on-air feud."

Personally, I do not see what the WWE has to gain by putting Nash back on TV. Yes, he has mic skills and as he proved in TNA, he can still wrestle on a limited work schedule.

However, the WWE's current roster is overfilled and underused as is. So, why would they have an older wrestler past his prime take up TV time when it is better served with their current roster?

Even without the WWE contract, Nash cannot be hurting for money. The man cashed in on WCW while he was in his prime. At this point, he should sit back, make his mandatory WWE appearances and enjoy the check while it's there.

Let me know what you think. Is Nash justified, or is he just another old wrestler clinging for the spotlight?

TNA executive producer Eric Bischoff comments on the future of the X Division, whether Hulk Hogan vs. Sting could be successful in 2011

Q : What wrestling fans can expect from the X-Division now that the Destination X pay-per-view has come and gone?
A : "One of the things that confused/frustrated me when i first got here was the X-Division. One of the things I first talked about in creative meetings was 'What is the X-Division? Can someone please define it to me?' It really never got a straight answer. One of the things we have realized in the last couple of weeks is that everyone knows that in the X-Division, that style of wrestling works really well, but it's incumbent on us, as producers, if we want to showcase that style of wrestling to clearly define it in a way that fans can understand, and then have the discipline to stick with it."

Q : Whether the upcoming Impact Wrestling TV tapings (in Huntsville, AL, Knoxville, TN, and Macon, GA) should be seen as an experimental trial by TNA and Spike TV or something that will be an long-term investment for the viewing audience?
A : "It's a little bit of both. We knew when we went on the road last March that we wanted to prove a point. We wanted to show people that we could pull it off from a financial point of view. We wanted to prove to the network that it would have an impact on the overall quality of the show, and we were successful, which led to what we are going to do this fall. Hopefully, what we do this fall is going to prove that it has long-term viability and sustainability. And if we are successful, as we were in March, my hope individually is Spike TV and the executives at TNA decide that this is the best strategy for this brand. I think that's the one thing that will change the trajectory of this brand * this company for the better, and it is taking the show on the road."

Q : What he feels would be the market for a proposed Hulk Hogan/Sting in-ring showdown and why, if it happened, could be a "phenomenal event"?
A : "It's hard to say. It's a little bit early, but if you look at the fan reaction to the storyline so far, I would have to say that the market would be pretty good for it. I think you have got two icons, two of the biggest names in the history of the business, who are probably nearing the end of their respective careers. I think naturally people would love to see that match for a lot of reasons. There will be some that probably does not want to see that match for their own reasons, but I think the storyline will ultimately dictate how big the market is for that match. Given the performances that we have seen out of Hulk Hogan and Sting as of late, I've got high expectations. If everything else is right, and Hulk is feeling it, and he's in good enough shape, and Sting is feeling it and really wants it, I think it could be a phenomenal event if it occurs."

Jay Lethal talks about his TNA departure and if WWE or ROH is an option

Jay Lethal was on Busted Open with hosts Doug Mortman and Dave LaGreca. The show airs Mondays and Wednesdays from 2-4 PM ET on Sirius 92 and XM 207. He promoted his appearance with Ring of Honor at Best in the World 2011 this weekend and talked about a bunch of subjects, you can check out a little extracts below :

On Sinclair Broadcasting TV deal, and if ROH could they possibly surpass TNA as the #2 promotion in the US? "They have all the tools. All they need is that one big break. Hopefully they found it with Sinclair; all they're missing is a way to get their niche, their broadcast, their network out there to the mainstream people, that's all. They got an amazing following right now and I can't even begin to think how large that following could grow."

Concerns with ROH not being on TV in markets like New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia: "That's the only thing that Ring of Honor is lacking. That is the only thing and I mean, it's no fault of their own. Some people get lucky and get it right away. Some people, it takes time to catch that break and get on TV where you need to be able to reach that audience that you need to get to. Through no fault of their own, they haven't gotten there yet. Hopefully, they found what they need in Sinclair. Hopefully, this is it. Hopefully, Ring of Honor is about to take off. "

If he is a true free agent: "I am totally free. I am no longer working for TNA wrestling."

If WWE is an option: "Especially in wrestling, you can never ever say never. Up until now, I've never set a goal really for myself. I've been a very lucky individual when it comes to professional wrestling, and I've never sat down and set a goal for myself only because I thought that if I did, I would jinx it. As a kid, the WWE is what inspired us all to become professional wrestlers. The WWE is what shaped our love for professional wrestling. I'd like to at some point, get the chance to work for and with the company that helped shape the love I have for this business. That remains to be seen though, no?"

What happened at the end of his TNA run: "Everybody wants to know the answer to that question and I don't think I'm ready to just quite give the full full answer. All I can say right now is we've come to an agreement and they've decided it would be best for both parties if we mutually split. Nothing against them, I had honestly what I could say to be the greatest day of my life with the company. That chapter of my life with TNA is now closed and I'm looking forward to the future and it starts in Manhattan with Ring of Honor."

If politics were a factor in his departure from TNA: "I can honestly say with 100 percent certainty no it did not. That has nothing to do with it."

Thoughts on Destination X PPV: "I can honestly say again with 100 percent certainty that I did see that they are bringing back a couple of guys. I am definitely not going to be one of them."
