Former WWE Wrestler John Morrison Branches out into New Career

Former WWE performer John Morrison (AKA John Hennigan) has certainly been keeping himself busy since he left the promotion.

Notably, he's picked up a prominent role in the wonderfully-titled Redemption: The Darkness Descending, which stars B-movie king Danny Trejo. Per IMDB, Morrison plays a character called "Razor" in the film. Fabulous.

In addition to picking up acting gigs in Hollywood, the star is also reported to be branching out into the physical fitness industry.

In this week's (subscribers-only) Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that Morrison, who last appeared on WWE television late last year, is on the verge of releasing his own line of workout DVDs aimed at getting people into shape:

John Hennigan (Morrison) has started a new business called Out of Your Mind Fitness. It's DVDs based on using a lot of different and new exercises, mostly bodyweight, for those looking to not just get in better shape but gain functional athletic strength and conditioning by forcing the body to constantly adapt by changing angles of routines.

Notably, Hennigan is not the first wrestler to take this career route.

Former WWE Women's Champion Trish Stratus, who worked as a fitness model prior to entering wrestling, found success in the field of yoga, even opening her own studio, Stratusphere Yoga, in Ontario. As Diva-Dirt.com notes, she's also released an official DVD line.

Ex-WCW and WWE wrestler Diamond Dallas Page has also joined in the yoga craze with his company DDP Yoga. WWE's official website even profiled Page's work in the area earlier this year, noting that several current superstars, including Zack Ryder, Santino Marella and Titus O'Neil, had joined Page's program and found it to be highly beneficial for their lives and careers.

The list goes on.

Former WWE Divas The Bella Twins have also jumped on the workout bandwagon, with one of their post-WWE projects being a fitness DVD (via Diva-Dirt.com). TNA Knockout Rosita has also mentioned that she teaches an aerobics class when not performing (via WrestlingInc.com).

Survivor Series 2011 : United States Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison

photo : wwe.com

Break Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis has yet to regard Zack Ryder's request of for a United States Championship opening, but WWE.com has studied only that the prestigious title should be safeguarded at Survivor Series. Instead of naming The Long Island Iced-Z as the challenger, then again, Mr. Laurinaitis told WWE.com that John Morrison will square off with U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler. However clearly a thwarted expectation for Ryder, the opening couldn’t take a stab at a preferable time for The Guru of Greatness, who just recovered some of his absent “mojo” following destroying Ziggler.

Mr. Laurinaitis' choice introduces a plaguing job for the United States Champion, who was reported previous in the week as Christian's shift on Team Barrett for the customary 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Match. This will in addition check the second time in as a large number of months that Dolph Ziggler has contended in a few matches at one pay-for every-view occasion. However unsuccessful in a tag group match at Vengeance with Jack Swagger in opposition to WWE Tag Team Champions “Air Boom,” Ziggler bounced back by crushing Zack Ryder in the exact following challenge. The U.S. Champion has a chance to test his particular continuance yet again, and indicate the WWE Locker Room how he describes being a champion.

In spite of the fact that The Shaman of Sexy had fallen into a months-extended droop, he bobbed once more by vanquishing Ziggler on Raw SuperShow newly, and reminding the WWE Universe why he is one of the most obviously breathtaking ring warriors of today. The parkour expert's well known resurgence of his “mojo” has unmistakably not gone unnoticed as Mr. Laurinaitis has put forth this flabbergasting opening to the past a few-time Intercontinental Champion. In all honesty to Zack Ryder, he slipped up to catch the U.S. Title at Vengeance, therefore opening the entryway for a unique challenger.

Obviously, Ziggler invariably has a variable yelling in his corner in the frame of the banshee-such as cougar, Vickie Guerrero. John Morrison might have the capacity to adjust to and utilize nature's domain around him further bolstering his good fortune, but nothing can help him acclimate to the sound of Vickie's piercing whine when going up against the U.S. Champion.

There is no statement yet on which match will occur first for Ziggler, but even if the United States Champion tries not to survive the Survivor Series Elimination Match, he created at Vengeance that he would be able to be sure handle a few elevated-stakes challenges in one night.

Will John Morrison keep on to extend his climbing mojo and catch the U.S. Title? Or will Ziggler substantiate that at what time the United States Championship is on the line, not all the more contending in several matches is sufficient to hold him down?

John Morrison Might Be headed to TNA?

John Morrison, the Prince of Parkour, has been the subject of much discussion recently. He is not being used properly by the WWE, who seem intent on burying him as much as they can.

Are they wasting a perfectly good talent? Probably, but what will inevitably be WWE’s loss, will likely be TNA’s gain.

John Morrison is a phenomenal athlete with many skills at his disposal.

After stellar showings at both the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, it seemed he was set for main event glory. However, neck injuries and backstage politics have meant that Morrison has stayed grounded in the mid-card, more recently becoming the laughing stock of the WWE Universe.

I think it would be fair to say that by now, the WWE Universe is starting to lose interest in the Shaman of Sexy, as his character seemingly has no direction.

TWNPnews.com reported the following a few hours ago:

John Morrison is no longer being promoted for WWE's upcoming tour of Japan, which happens November 30 and December 1, 2011 in Yokohama. Kevin Nash is now promoted for the a few-date worldwide tour.

WWELiveTour.com is not promoting Morrison for any occasions when the November 28, 2011 RAW Supershow in Columbia, South Carolina. He was proclaimed for a Raw exist occasion undertaking January 6, 2012 in Jackson, Mississippi, but pulled final week.

Now, when you are, no doubt, being reinstated by an advancing veteran who a large number of wish had never returned to the WWE, you know you are out of luck. Inching toward getting kicked off the tour in favour of Kevin Nash could make me debilitated to my stomach depending on if I was Morrison.

A more advanced in years, slower man, who was denied authorization to contend a few months back, has taken a spot that Morrison might entirely effortlessly have filled with his hazardous elevated-flying parkour style.

It is looking less and less presumable that John Morrison will carry on to be embarrassed by the WWE.

Examiner.com reported the emulating info prior today:

Over the final few days, reports have turned out with respect to John Morrison's last dates as an animated wrestler for the WWE. As of Friday, Morrison is not planned for any occasions following November 29th. It remains hazy when precisely Morrison's contract closes. Then again, consistent with a Saturday November 12th report by WrestlingInc.com, Morrison has his eyes on TNA when his time is up with the WWE.

It's normal drill for the WWE to put a 90-day no contend proviso when a wrestler's contract is up. Morrison's contract has been reputed to close at the close of 2011. In the event that accurate, then he wouldn't have the ability to contend in TNA until the finish of March 2012.

Since he had any sense, John Morrison could spend Christmas at home with his clan, then hold up until March, when he would be able to come to be a prevailing occasion star in TNA.

In what I accept could be a major securing for WWE's fundamental match, John Morrison would be able to be utilized in numerous routes in the humbler, more exploratory advancement.

He would be able to make a big appearance a revamped trick, he would be able to be utilized in the X-Division to kick him off—he might even be the following TNA Heavyweight Champion. The potential outcomes are endless...a part like reusing.

One thing is for sure, he isn’t set up to reach any destination worth reaching in the WWE whilst being a celebrated agent.

He has become a different slipped up task by a group I think might be losing its grasp on the pro wrestling planet.

I could adoration Morrison to head over to TNA and do what Christian did for himself—end up the star he won’t be in the WWE.

John Morrison is not the Shawn Michaels of this era

courtesy : wwe.com

John Morrison is undoubtedly a talented wrestler. For years, many have believed that he would be the next star of the WWE, watching and waiting for his eventual world championship win.

I may be in the minority, but I believe that John Morrison has gotten worse in 2011. Regardless of how good he is, Morrison will never satisfy the expectations placed on him.

On occasion the WWE and fans alike will refer to Morrison as "the Shawn Michaels of this era."

This is simply false.

Shawn Michaels is (in my opinion) the greatest to ever step foot in the ring. He is able to make anyone look good, and with a decent opponent can wrestle classic matches. Unlike so many others, Shawn had charisma. He found his niche with his role as the Heartbreak Kid.

So where does this comparison stem from? On the surface, it could be trivial similarities such as the long hair, the tights, the (somewhat) similar high-flying ability.

Delve deeper and you will find that Morrison's in-ring ability is compared to that of Shawn Michaels.

From a general perspective I can see the reasoning. Both superstars' move sets comprise of high-flying attacks, and every now and then they will do something that is simply awesome. Whether it be Shawn's now famous "skinning the cat," or John Morrison's parkour display at the 2011 Royal Rumble.

However if you truly analyse the in-ring work of both Morrison and Michaels, you will find that they are actually quite different.

For Morrison, i'll admit it. He's slowly becoming a spot monkey. Many Morrison critics in the past have used this term to describe him. While I never before thought it truly applied to him, watching his matches over the past six months it is apparent that the impressive aspects of his matches are only his spots.

I believe Morrison's in-ring work is slowly degrading. I point the finger at this "parkour" gimmick the WWE are pushing. The gimmick has forced Morrison to move away from great all-around worked matches into matches where all the focus is on his spots. His spinning planchas, the springboards, the flips.

Yes, they are all very impressive, but unless it is backed with great technical wrestling, then it becomes the workings of a spot monkey, and I don't enjoy calling him that.

Shawn Michaels on the other hand created classic matches through the combination of high flying moves and technical wrestling. Chris Jericho says it best (from the conclusion of the Heartbreak and Triumph DVD) when he says "moves that I've seen before and moves I've seen every day."

Moving away from the in-ring, and looking at Morrison's most criticised trait—charisma. For me, this is the most shocking aspect of this comparison.

As I said before, I see where some of the negligible comparisons come from, however Morrison and Michaels are on different planets when it comes to charisma.

The truth of pro wrestling is that you can't make it to the top if you can't cut a promo. I'm sure you could find me some exceptions, however this is the general truth.

Morrison is underwhelming and unconvincing when he cuts a promo. Look at his promo from this week's RAW if you don't believe me. He doesn't appear to have great comedic timing either. Perhaps he would develop on the mic of the WWE let him write his own promos, so that he can feel comfortable.

There's not much to say about Shawn Michael's charisma. He's the Heartbreak Kid, he can exude intensity and make you laugh, but no matter what, Shawn is convincing on the mic.

Perhaps the most similar aspect of both Morrison and Michaels are their well documented backstage problems.

Shawn Michael's story is a well known one by now. In the mid 1990s Shawn was on top of the wrestling world, however he had a terrible attitude backstage that eventually led his life to spiral out of control.

John Morrison's troubles are not nearly as dramatic. Throughout 2011, reports have surfaced of Morrison's bad attitude backstage. Most notably giving Trish Stratus the cold shoulder at WrestleMania 27.

The issues worsened for Morrison, enough to convince many critics within the IWC that he would be fired from the company.

Don't misconstrue the message of this article. This is not a John Morrison hater/Shawn Michaels mark article. I have become disillusioned with the comparisons between the two.

In reality Morrison and Michaels are two very different wrestlers, with few similar aspects. If anything this is to help Morrison. Being compared to one of the greatest of all time brings a hefty amount of pressure, considering it is an unfair comparison.

Morrison will never reach his potential if the comparisons continue, as he will most likely never be on the same level as Michaels, nor will many other superstars.

This is only my view of John Morrison as a whole. I know many of you are Morrison fans. This article is not hating on him. He is extremely talented, and with hard work and considerable improvement on the mic, Morrison could achieve the world champion potential he possesses.

John Morrison will be the next big WWE superstar.

courtesy : wwe.com

John Morrison made his in-ring return to WWE last night and this is going to be the start of big things to come for his career.

For a few months this year, before he got injured and had to miss three months, Morrison was getting the biggest push of his career and the fans were really taking to him. He has a unique style that makes it easy for fans to latch on and cheer for.

It hasn't always been easy for Morrison in WWE, which is unusual because he fits the mold of what the company looks for in a performer. He has a great physique and can use his rock star good looks to get interviews on late night talk shows.

The problem, at least as far as management is concerned, is that he doesn't portray himself as a "tough guy" backstage.

He has had an on-again off-again relationship with Melina for years. At one point during their relationship, Melina had an affair with former WWE star Batista, which he admitted to in his book. Morrison knew about it but didn't confront Batista about it, instead choosing to sweep it under the rug.

Yes, the fact that Morrison didn't try to pick a fight with Batista during that whole ordeal showed Vince McMahon that he is a gutless coward and not worthy of a push.

But since Batista is gone and WWE has serious depth issues, Morrison is getting the push that fans have been hoping for.

His style will help him get over huge with the crowd, as it already has, and once he develops the ability to cut a good promo, he will take off. He has all the potential in the world, and now that WWE has to push new stars, he is finally getting his chance to prove himself to the decision makers in WWE.

There is no one on the roster who can do what Morrison can do in the ring thanks to his parkour-style training, and when he gets a chance to prove himself in a top feud, he will take off like a rocket shot into space.

Shocker's at WWE Raw 7/25/2011

  • Good old Jim Ross returned to commentary table on WWE Raw last night.
  • John Morrison also returned on last night's WWE Raw after being out since May recovering from an neck injury that required surgery.
  • John Cena overcame Rey Mysterio on WWE Raw last night to win the WWE Championship belt. After winning the championship title, CM Punk returned to the WWE ring with his spinning WWE Championship belt which he won at Money in the bank around his waste. CM Punk and John Cena feudwas never finished, it looks like SummerSlam will feature Cena vs. Punk, may like title vs. title?

The top 6 PPV matches of 2011 #WWE

6. Randy Orton vs CM Punk, Extreme Rules - WWE Extreme Rules 2011 PPV (Watch Now)

Until Money in the Bank, Extreme Rules was my PPV of the Year, and this match would be one of the reasons why.

A rivalry that started at the Royal Rumble, Punk wanted revenge on Orton for punting him in the head two years ago, costing him the World Title, but Orton would punt the Nexus in the skulls, going on to defeat Punk at Wrestlemania in a great match. The two would look to settle their score in a Last Man Standing Match.

This match kicked off the extreme show, and I must say that it was the right choice as this match was completely brutal from start to finish.

From the two beating the hell out of each other with kendo sticks, to Punk being thrown into a wedge steel chair, or to the sick top rope RKO from Randy Orton, this match was completely sick.

To many, it was fairly obvious that Randy Orton would win since he has just moved to Smackdown and would need momentum, but a bright spot to me in the match was that it took three different RKO's from Orton to keep Punk down for a ten count.

Still, it never seemed to reach that next level of brutality like other Last Man Standing matches, like Batista vs Taker, or HHH vs HBK.
WWE Extreme Rules 2011 PPV (Watch Now)

5. The Miz vs John Cena vs John Morrison, Extreme Rules - WWE Extreme Rules 2011 PPV (Watch Now)
Just missing out on the top five is the Triple Threat Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules for the WWE Title.

This match had very little build up to it, and not many people had great expectations going into it, but even so, these three men—Morrison, Cena, and Miz—all managed to put on a great main event for Extreme Rules.

This cage match was absolutely insane from start to finish, as their were many near falls throughout, and the story of how one could get out of the cage while the other was preoccupied with an opponent.

This match had its own share of crazy-ass spots, with the top two having to be the Double Super Brainbuster on Miz from the top of the cage, and Morrison's Starship Pain from the top of the cage.

The Triple Threat was used very well, as anyone could get a win at any time while one was preoccupied, and add to the fact that steel cage neutralized the revolving door aspect Triple Threats are known to have, and that's a great match.

The involvement of R-Truth was a great storytelling aspect, as he took out Morrison and climbed out of the cage as if to symbolize that he should be walking out the WWE Champion.

This match was great from start to finish, and completely blew anyone's expectations of it out of the water.

This match, in my mind, revitalized the cage match concept, and absolutely deserves this spot on the list.

WWE Extreme Rules 2011 PPV (Watch Now)

4. Christian vs Alberto Del Rio, Extreme Rules - WWE Extreme Rules 2011 PPV (Watch Now)
Now here's a match we should all remember very fondly: the Ladder Match for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.

When Edge was forced to retire due to injury, he was forced to relinquish the World Title in the process. He was supposed to defend the title in a ladder match against Alberto Del Rio, but plans changed. Del Rio would still get his shot, but someone would take Edge's place in the match, and that man's name was Christian.

Now what happens when you have Christian, Del Rio, a great rivalry, great chemistry between the two, a match which Christian made famous, and a fact that neither have been World Champion?

You get one hell of an epic ladder match!

Neither Christian nor Del Rio ever held a World Title in WWE prior to this match, so the anticipation was already high for this one.

Now this ladder match was just brutal and insane from start to finish. Whether it was Christian falling onto a ladder with a splat, or Del Rio crashing and burning into a ladder, this match was just sick!

And not only that, there is also the emotion and storytelling that was off the charts.

People wanted to see Christian win his first World Title over Christian, and when Edge distracted Del Rio long enough for Christian to take him out, the crowd practically exploded as Christian pulled down the belt for his first ever World Title.

There is no doubt that Christian's World Title victory is the feel good moment of the year, and I will always have this match and that moment in my memory forever.

This is a serious recommendation for anyone who's fan of Ladder Matches and/or Christian.

WWE Extreme Rules 2011 PPV (Watch Now)

3. Randy Orton vs Christian, Over the Limit -  WWE Over the Limit 2011 PPV (Watch Now)
Okay, these guys could wrestle each other 5,000 times in a row, and I wouldn't get tired of watching them.

That's how good Christian and Randy Orton are when they wrestle one another, and without a doubt, their match at Over the Limit was the best in their series yet.

In what was an otherwise lackluster and bad PPV, Randy Orton vs Christian for the World Heavyweight Championship stole the show and was an instant classic.

The action was fast and furious from the absolute get-go, near fall after near fall as the two just went full throttle on one another.

It was one of the best face vs face matches in a long while, as the crowd was genuinely split on who they wanted to walk out with the title, and that created a fun atmosphere for this match.

Perhaps my favorite moment of the match was when Orton went for the Punt but hesitated, then went for it again, only to get the hell speared out of him by Christian himself.

Seriously, that was just an awesome moment, and I thought Christian had it won at the moment.

A classic match that definitely deserves to be called a Match of the Year contender, and one that's definitely worth watching.
WWE Over the Limit 2011 PPV (Watch Now)

2. Triple H vs Undertaker, Wrestlemania 27 - WWE Wrestlemania 27 (Watch Now)

Next up, what else than the War of Wars at Wrestlemania 27, Triple H vs Undertaker.

Of course this match was going to be on this list one way or another, and it should come as no surprise as to how high it is on this list.

No Holds Barred with the Undertaker's Streak on the line, and we all knew we were in a for a really good match, but thought it could not live up to HBK/Taker from the past two years.

But we all ate our words as Undertaker and Triple put forth a Wrestlemania classic that will be talked about for years to come.

These two absolutely destroyed one another, whether it was Taker backdropping HHH onto the floor from a table, or HHH delivering an epic, sickening chair shot to Taker's skull—this was nothing short of a brutal war.

One thing I will never forget was how Triple H absolutely dismantled Undertaker with no mercy, the roles reversed from the past two years as now Undertaker was now the vulnerable one, with Triple H telling him to stay down.

Then Triple H delivered the Tombstone—of all things—to the Undertaker. I absolutely thought that was it, and the Undertaker's Streak was finally over. But when Undertaker kicked out, I fell down in awe and shock!

I could not believe how awesome this match was, and how they were able to deliver that kind of near fall!

Eventually, Triple H took too much time, and Taker took advantage and caught him in Hell's Gate. The Game fought as long as he could, but eventually, he was forced to weakly tap out, extending the Streak to 19-0.

The drama, emotion, and storytelling this match had was just surreal, and no doubt this match will be the one thing that Wrestlemania 27 is remembered for.

I thought that this match would be your Match of the Year throughout 2011, and that nothing would top it, until...

1. CM Punk vs John Cena, Money in the Bank - WWE Money in the Bank 2011 PPV (Watch Now)

Ladies and gentlemen, your 2011 Match of the Year so far is CM Punk vs John Cena for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank.

This should come as no surprise as this match has been hailed by fans and critics alike as a five-star match.

Even Dave Meltzer himself, who has not given a WWE match a five-star rating in 14 years, gave this match five stars.

And it's not hard to see why in my opinion.

With one of the greatest builds of all time, ranging from Punk's epic shoot promo to the emotional "Contract Negotiations," this match had all the momentum in the world as it became the most anticipated match in recent memory.

And without a damn doubt, it delivered in every damn aspect.

From a hot and crazy Chicago crowd, to the back and forth action, to the unpredictability surrounding the whole match, CM Punk vs John Cena showed us what professional wrestling was all about.

The drama was absolutely off the charts, and the near falls were so close and numerous, they could give you a heart attack, and it was no doubt a technical wrestling showcase in itself.

And the ending was nothing short of perfect.

Vince and his lackey, Laurinaitis, came out, and as Punk was locked in the STF, Vince tried to recreate the Montreal Screwjob, but Cena was having none of it and decked Laurinaitis, but when he got back in, he got hit with a GTS.

A 1-2-3 later, Punk shocked the world and became the new WWE Champion.

This match had it all: an awesome bully, a hot crowd, technical wrestling, back and forth action, drama, emotion, storytelling, unpredictability and a shocking ending.

CM Punk vs John Cena is without a doubt your 2011 Match of the Year, and a five-star match at that.

298.Feud which we think that WWE should consider?

1.Ted DiBiase vs. The Undertaker
As I have told you that Ted DiBiase will end Undertakers Wrestlemania winning streak and then Undertaker will retire. The story line will be that Ted DiBiase Sr brought Undertaker in WWE so Ted DiBiase Jr will take Undertaker out of WWE.
If Ted DiBiase ends Undertaker's Wrestlaminia's winning streak it will be a big high light for Ted DiBiase career. I personally life this sorty line of father and son combination. If you observe Ted DiBiase's wresrtling skills you will see that Ted DiBiase is better than Cody Rhodes and Ted has the same atitudde of Randy Orton. Source also says that this feud will start with Cody Rhodes and Undertaker then Cody Rhodes will pass it on to Ted DiBiase then the entire Legacy will make Undertaker R.I.P. The way WWE has been trying to make Legacy the most dominating group by having feud with most valued guys like Shane McMahon, Triple H, Batista, MVP it shows that WWE is preparing Legacy for someting big.
Ted DiBiase Sr has played a big role in Undertaker's carrer now his son Ted DiBiase Jr will also play a big role in Unertaker's carre by defeating and retiring the Undertaker from WWE forever.

2.John Cena vs. CM Punk
John Cena has accomplished many unbelivable things in WWE like holding WWE Championship title for more than 1 year and FU 500 pounds Big Show twice. John Cena is the face of WWE as he is one of the best. Did you notice that when ever Cena make his way to the ring the fans just go crazy, but their is one more superstar in WWE who is also a 2 time money in the bank winner and former World Heavyweight Champion by cashing in the money and making Edge go to sleep, Ooh yea its CM Punk. If this two men go one on one in the ring it's gonna be fun to watch as John Cena's strenght and CM Punk's speed will be the reason to watch the match.

3. Shawn Michaels vs. John Morrison
John Morrison is the Shawn Michaels of 21st century. John Morrison is a up comming superstar and Shawn Michaels career is comming to and end this both superstars wrestling skills are the same. According to me if John Morrison wants to come up in light form shadow he has to defeat Shawn Michaels as Michaels is the show stopper. It will be totally intresting match between both of these men. Shawn Michaels retirement is very near then who will be the show stopper and who will be the next HBK, John Morrison will be the best man to take Shawn Michaels shoes.

If you agree or dis agree to any of the above match or do you want to see any match in future in WWE please comment on it.
