WWE Wrestler Who Had Backstage Dispute with Vince McMahon Revealed

As some of you may recall from a few weeks ago, there was an "Elite" PWInsider.com news piece (via WrestleZone.com) that a "top talent" got into a very heated exchange with Vince McMahon backstage at Raw.

Reportedly, the individual more or less let Vince know in no uncertain terms that the WWE chairman is out of touch, the creative team lacks creativity and the company would end up going "to hell in a handbasket" if it were to continue down its current path.

In many ways, this real-life report had trumped the fictional proceedings of WWE, which paled in comparison. This was an irresistible mystery for the simple fact that it had many fans wondering who could possibly be so courageous to stand up to the WWE head honcho?

Well, following weeks of speculation, the "offender," who dared to challenge Vince, has been revealed.

We noted a few weeks back that a top WWE Superstar lashed out at Vince McMahon backstage, pointing out that WWE's product was in trouble, the ratings were bad and Vince himself may be out of touch. Word now is that John Cena was the one to speak out.

Certainly, John Cena had to have been considered a prime candidate given his nearly indomitable standing in WWE.

That being said, the notion of going head-to-head with Vince seemed like something the brash and outspoken CM Punk would do, not Cena, who has always been a company man, through and through.

It goes to show, though, that despite Cena having every logical reason to sit back and count his top earnings, his inner wrestling fan still has a desire to see WWE not rest on its laurels.

Moreover, if the recent developments regarding Cena on WWE TV are any indication, one has to wonder if the 10-time WWE champion is being punished for airing his grievances.

After all, Cena did not appear on the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view broadcast and was instead relegated to a pre-event promo.

Not to mention, Cena's current storyline involving AJ Lee and Vickie Guerrero casts the larger-than-life wrestling hero in an almost unfavorable light.

Is it being done for the purpose of making room for Vince's next golden goose, Ryback, who won't fall out of line?

In the midst of all this, however, the empowered Cena may not be ready to abdicate his throne to the chosen heir just yet.
