How Wade Barrett can become a main-eventer again

Wade Barrett was once the leader of Nexus and the most hated man in WWE. He and his group of NXT rookies ran all over everyone in WWE for months.

It seemed as if Barrett was on the fast track to stardom. He was the standout of his NXT season and he climbed the ranks quickly enough to be in main event matches within a month of showing up on Raw.

Heels and faces alike were coming together to fight off Barrett and his group, which seemed to be taking over Raw with ease. They took out Vince McMahon and Bret Hart in a short period of time as well.

There were at least three PPV matches where Barrett had the chance to become WWE champion, but he never closed the deal. For one reason or another, WWE decided to stop his push.

Nexus came under the leadership of CM Punk and Barrett was outed from the group. He went to SmackDown where he was joined by fellow former Nexus member Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater. Along with Ezekiel Jackson, they formed The Corre.

Barrett was again looking primed to win a world title, but again his group fell apart and he fell to the back of the line.

Right now Barrett is on a small winning streak and could be on the verge of a new push. He seems to have refocused his energy and could be close to breaking through to the main event scene again.

What Barrett needs to do now is focus on where he needs some work. His mic skills are good, but they could always be better.

One of the things that allowed him to stand out on NXT was his ability to deliver a good promo. During a challenge where the contestants were given a random topic on which to speak, Barrett took a speech about wind and got the crowd on his side.

He also stood out in the ring as a powerhouse who could go toe to toe with anybody. His size is another asset he needs to use.

SmackDown has its fair share of powerhouse wrestlers with Sheamus, Big Show, Mark Henry and Khali on the roster. Barrett needs to use his quickness to stand out from the bunch.

I have faith in Barrett that he will be a world champion some day. His in-ring ability is always improving, and his mic skills are above average for how long he has been in WWE.

I am looking forward to seeing Barrett in the main event of PPVs again, and I think he and Sheamus could have an amazing program together.

What do you guys think? What does Wade Barrett need to do to be a main-eventer again?
