Why Bringing Back Undertaker at Old School Raw Would Be a Smart Move by WWE

The rumors have been circulating about The Undertaker's WrestleMania status for weeks, and they exploded following his return at a house show.

Many wondered why WWE did not bring back Undertaker during Monday's Raw, but now we are starting to hear rumors that he will be returning next Monday during the special Old School Raw.

Despite leaving WWE one fewer week to develop whatever feud he might have, this is actually a really good idea on WWE's part if it is indeed what they plan to do.

Nobody in WWE exemplifies the Old School image and mentality more than The Undertaker, and having him make his triumphant return might be the saving grace for a show that has the possibility of going either way.

WWE's gimmick Raw shows always end up being either very entertaining or unbearable, depending on the gimmick of the show and how much effort went into booking it.

With this being an "Old School" gimmick, it means we are going to see some faces from the past, and which faces those end up being will determine the success of the show.

WWE has plenty of go-to talents for things like this who already work for the company. Guys like Dusty Rhodes, Goldust, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ricky Steamboat, Brooklyn Brawler, Jim Ross and members of DX always get big pops, but WWE sometimes goes with more obscure characters who don't always get a reaction.

Is this the Undertaker?

Did the Deadman make an appearance at a WWE live event in Waco, Texas this weekend?

The Undertaker is WWE's ace in the hole in this situation. If the show is awful, it won't matter, because the headline coming out of the show will be Undertaker's return.

They could have a series of matches featuring guys like The Repo Man, Adam Bomb and any number of other forgettable characters, but the buzz will be about The Undertaker.

And if WWE has a great show and brings back Undertaker, then it will be that much better.

We always hope these gimmick shows will be fun, but we have to remember how many terrible things shows like Raw Roulette and The Slammys have given us.

I will do you a favor by not including a clip of Tensai in lingerie, so as to save you the trouble of bleaching your eyes afterwards.

The Undertaker's return is not what people will actually be talking about, but rather whom he would challenge. Until we have confirmation, anything is possible.

What's so intimidating about The Undertaker?

Many people will speculate that CM Punk would be his opponent following a promo laced with specific words that people associate with him, as well as because he has no opponent for the event as of yet.

This is logical, but there are numerous superstars who have yet to find matches that would make great opponents, like Sheamus or The Shield.

Can you imagine if Undertaker fights The Shield in a gauntlet match?

Again, none of this is set in stone. Undertaker might not return on Monday, and we might not get a match for his streak this year, but you would be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't want to see him come back.
