Bryan dominated nearly the entire fight, inflicting brutal punishment on the man who took his World Heavyweight Championship belt. But in the end, Sheamus survived the beating on sheer will power, eventually besting Bryan in the two-out-three falls match.
How it Happened
Bryan was clearly hungry for revenge after getting knocked out just 18 seconds into WrestleMania. He came out in a fury, unleashing vicious hit after vicious hit on Sheamus.
It appeared Sheamus had dislocated his left shoulder after being slammed into one of the posts, but his rival showed no mercy. Bryan jumped out of the ring and bashed Sheamus' face into the post again.
Once they were back in the ring, Bryan repeatedly kicked him in his hurt shoulder. Then, he teed off with a powerful drop kick that put Sheamus on his back.
After letting loose with a devastating roundhouse kick to the face, Bryan had a chance to finish his opponent off. However, Sheamus kicked out of the submission attempt, turning the tide of the match.
After a failed drop kick by Bryan, Sheamus rolled him over and submitted him to retain the title.
What's Next
Hopefully we get a third match between these two.
The quick knockout at WrestleMania was horribly unsatisfying, but Sunday's match showed the true entertainment that can occur when these two step in the ring. It was one of the most exciting matches of the event, and it should leave fans wanting more.
