Why Christian needs to retain his World Title at SummerSlam

After months of handling the Randy Orton and Christian feud correctly, there is still a chance that the WWE throws all of its hard work away.

It has been the company’s method of operation over the last several years to rush through storylines and haphazardly put gimmicks together to trick fans into liking the product in the ring.

With this track record of failure at crafting storylines with kick, the dedication to the feud between Christian and Randy Orton has come to a real surprise for many people.

The surprise doesn’t come from the serious push for Orton, though, because in many people’s eyes, the WWE views RKO as the second biggest star competing on a regular basis behind John Cena.

While Randy Orton is priceless in the WWE’s eyes, Christian has had to prove himself to management again after leaving in the past to wrestle with rival franchise TNA Impact Wrestling. Not only has Christian met the high standards set for him, he has outperformed them 10 times over, and it is Christian’s abilities on the mic that have sold this feud for as long as it has endured.

This will be the third consecutive pay-per-view that the two competitors have squared off, and it is very rare that the WWE ever lets a feud go this long anymore.

Though the WWE has done everything correct during this whole ride, it still has to continue the madness and end it correctly or all that hard work will be all for not.
RKO and Christian have been headlining the SmackDown brand for months, but the tirade of Mark Henry over the last several weeks has many experts thinking that this is his triyearly World Title push.

With three PPVs in just over a month’s time, the WWE CAN’T afford to let its World Champion face off against one of the worst technical wrestlers in the business for three consecutive shows.

As much as I feel Orton is overrated, he is still a damn good worker in the ring. Even with all of his talent, Orton is not good enough to carry Mark Henry for three months while he stinks up the ring.

The solution to the problem is to let Christian retain his title, and let Randy Orton feud with Mark Henry without the belt on the line. With Randy Orton making the mid-card even better by being the face for Henry, Christian can put over another star while still retaining the belt.

After the rush of PPV shows is over and before the road to WrestleMania begins, the WWE could resume the feud between Christian and Orton and continue it through the biggest show on the company’s docket.
