Shotzi Reveals She Battled Mental Health Struggles Amid Social Media Hate During WWE Run

Former WWE star Shotzi Blackheart opened up about how harsh criticism online deeply impacted her mental health. On the Rulebreakers podcast, she admitted, “I deal with criticism very hard and I’m super sensitive… everything affects me so much and I get really emotional.”

She revealed that she once ranked third among wrestlers receiving the most hate online, with women dominating the list’s top five. This negativity pushed her into a period of deep depression. Over time, she shifted her focus toward blocking out harmful comments, leaning on support from peers, and prioritizing her mental well-being.

Reflecting on her final days in WWE, Shotzi said she often felt like she was “drowning.” Now, as she returns to the independent wrestling scene, she is in a stronger headspace and better equipped to manage the pressures of public criticism.
