Chris Masters tweets about his TNA debut

As many of you know, Chris Masters was one of the people released from the WWE last Friday.

It took him some time to let it sink in before making a comment—that was until Sunday when Masters stated:

"@wwemasterp: After a day of digesting,I must say WWE wasn't doing anything with me. So it's probably best I go make my IMpact somewhere else."

It is funny how some people that are released automatically feel they are off to TNA. Sadly, if Masters is picked up by TNA, he will probably be in the same spot that the WWE had him in. It seems like Masters really messed up his career after his first stint with the WWE.

For those of you that don't know, this was not Masters first go-around with the company. He previously wrestled with the WWE from 2005-2007.

Masters was a great heel and was made famous for his "Masterlock Challenge". The challenge involved Masters pulling random people and putting them in his signature move "The Masterlock". The catch being that if the victim could break the hold, they would win $1,000.

Eventually, this reward was increased to $20,000. Masters claimed several audience members to the hold and would later move on to backstage talent. He had several wrestlers take the challenge; Val Venis, Sgt. Slaughter and Big Daddy V, amongst others. However, it would be "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels that would best Masters in the challenge.

During his initial run Masters had a main-event push and Intercontinental title run. However, it would be his violation of WWE's "Wellness Policy" that eventually did him in. Masters was released from his contract in 2007 and wrestled in the Indy's until his 2009 WWE return.

Ever since his return, Masters floundered in lower-mid card status with little to no TV time or story lines. Hopefully, he will take a page out of MVP's book and head overseas, as MVP has managed to rejuvenate his career there and reinvent himself.
