Austin Creed and Kofi have opened up about their decision to join All Elite Wrestling and discussed one of the biggest differences they have noticed since making the move from WWE.
The two former members of The New Day made their surprise AEW debut at All In 2026, appearing alongside Swerve Strickland during the Trios Roulette Royale at Wembley Stadium. The arrival immediately became one of the biggest talking points surrounding the event, particularly because Creed and Kofi went on to win the AEW World Trios Championship on their first night with the company.
Now performing together as The New Level, the duo has spoken about the opportunities that come with working for AEW and the freedom they have under their new contracts.
Kofi explained that AEW's contracts provide wrestlers with considerable flexibility when it comes to pursuing opportunities outside of wrestling. He described the structure as particularly appealing because performers are not subjected to the same level of restrictions that can sometimes prevent them from exploring other interests.
That freedom appears to be especially important to Kofi and Creed, who have both developed successful projects outside of wrestling during their careers.
For Creed, the move represents more than simply changing companies. It gives him and Kofi the opportunity to continue wrestling while also having greater control over the direction of their careers.
Their AEW debut demonstrated immediately that the company had major plans for the pair. Rather than slowly introducing them to the roster, AEW placed them in one of the night's most important matches and allowed them to leave Wembley Stadium as champions.
The decision also gave The New Level an opportunity to start fresh. Although fans will always associate Creed and Kofi with their years as part of The New Day, their AEW run allows them to establish a new identity while continuing the partnership that has defined much of their wrestling careers.
AEW CEO Tony Khan officially confirmed that the duo had signed with the company following their debut.
With The New Level already holding the AEW World Trios Championship alongside Swerve Strickland, the future looks extremely promising for Creed and Kofi. Their comments about AEW's wrestler-friendly environment suggest that they are not only excited about competing for the company but also about having greater freedom to shape what comes next in their careers.
