Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Thursday, October 16, for a disposition hearing related to charges stemming from a July 24 car accident in Westport, Connecticut.
The incident occurred on Route 15, where McMahon's 2024 Bentley Continental GT rear-ended a 2023 BMW 430, causing both vehicles to collide with a guardrail. Debris from the crash struck a 2020 Ford Fusion traveling in the opposite direction. All three vehicles sustained significant damage, and while no injuries were reported, all drivers were wearing seat belts, and airbags deployed in McMahon's car.
Following the crash, McMahon was cited for reckless driving and following too closely, both misdemeanors under Connecticut law. He was released on a $500 bond and is seeking to have the charges dismissed through a pretrial probationary program. If granted, this program could lead to the dismissal of the charges, allowing McMahon to avoid a formal conviction.
The upcoming court appearance marks a significant legal development for McMahon, who has faced previous controversies, including stepping down as WWE CEO in 2022 amid allegations of misconduct. His legal team is expected to present arguments for the dismissal of the charges during the October 16 hearing.
