As F4WOnline (h/t WrestlingInc) notes, former WWE women's champion Lisa Marie Varon could be brought back into the fold soon: "Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria, Tara) may be back to work for WWE in some form here soon, most likely as a NXT trainer. There's a women's tryout camp being planned for June so she may be brought in for that."
Former fitness model Varon worked for WWE from 2000 to 2009. During her stint, she was (rightly) regarded as one of the best female wrestlers the company had ever had under contract.
Trish Stratus and Amy “Lita” Dumas may have gotten most of the attention from management and fans, but Varon, and her solid in-ring work, was arguably the glue that kept the women's division together in the early 2000s.
Indeed, it wasn't until Stratus had worked with Varon in 2002 that she truly began to blossom as a wrestler.
Varon's time in TNA also showcased her superior in-ring talents, even if the company's rather inept booking crew didn't know how to properly use her gifts (although that seems to go for everyone in TNA these days).
She is simply one of the best female wrestlers that North America has ever seen. So bringing her back and using her as a trainer in developmental is an obvious move. However, I would urge management to consider using her as an on-screen character too.
OK, so she's probably a little older than youth-obsessed WWE likes its female wrestlers to be: She's 43—most women on the roster are in their 20s.
But, honestly, does it matter that much? She's still an attractive woman, and her talent speaks for itself. Not every woman in a prominent role has to be 25 and gracing the cover of Maxim.
