WrestleMania 29 Main Event Potentially Leaked

WrestleMania.

The very name evokes 28 years of memories—triumphs, tragedies and legacies that live on to this day.

What makes the event so special is the fact that it has pitted icons against each other in epic bouts we thought we'd never see.

Matches like Hulk Hogan vs. Andre The Giant, Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock, Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle and The Rock vs. John Cena left us spellbound and breathless.

They were battles that, while being witnessed in the moment, had to be savored lest they would never transpire again.

Ultimately, those matches appealed to us because they had never been done before up until WrestleMania.

WrestleMania 28's main event between Rock and Cena was no different. In fact, the promotional machine behind it took full advantage of the fact that neither man had crossed paths before, dubbing their clash a "Once-in-a-Lifetime" happening.

Fans heeded the tagline in spades too, which resulted in WrestleMania 28 becoming the most successful show in WWE pay-per-view history (source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter via WrestlingInc.com).

At the cost of artistic integrity, though, it seems as if WWE cannot overlook the possibility of repeat boffo business, according to leaked promo information for the 2013 Royal Rumble DVD and Blu-ray.

WWEDVDNews.com has acquired the material which states the following as a "key selling point":

-Buzz is already building after the main event match-up announcement placing two mega-watt superstars face-to-face for the first time since WrestleMania 28:

The Rock vs. John Cena

For the WWE Championship

Because there is virtually no mention of CM Punk, it is likely that the Chicago native will lose his WWE championship sometime between Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 29.

Ideally, the inevitable end to Punk's title reign could have made a new star, but it will instead lead to a very familiar feeling.

Some may term it déjà vu, whereas others may call it a lazy retread with a conclusion that is as obvious as it is discouraging.

Nevertheless, Cena is primed to atone for his most publicized loss at last year's Miami extravaganza. The question at this point is, does he get the chance to do so by winning the 30-man Royal Rumble match in Phoenix or via some other means?

There is a possibility that the Cena vs. Rock rivalry will not end this year, but in a rubber match at WrestleMania 30. Unfortunately, our imagination will have been too exhausted by then to give it its just due.
