But just as easily as Punk’s overall look on UFC selection was revealed, he was drawn from the occurrence (and informed not to even go to it) at the need of Vince McMahon.
This stunned many struggling lovers, and as you might anticipate, it amazed some individuals within WWE as well.
From PWInsider.com (via WrestleNewz.com):
"Regarding Vince McMahon pulling WWE Champion CM Punk from the UFC on FOX event later this month, there are a lot of people within WWE shaking their heads at the decision.
Really, I do not get it, either.
As I’ve mentioned in the last, WWE celebrities have created identical kinds of performances lately. Last year, Multiple H came with Floyd Mayweather to the band, and Batista also came with Manny Pacquiao for one of his punching suits.
So, why avoid Punk from doing the same?
Of course, concerns will happen about McMahon looking at Punk as someone who is on the same stage as Batista and Multiple H, and regardless of what form of feelings McMahon was evidently in when he determined, this brings me to believe that Punk still may not have quite the take that either of those folks have had.
Sure, there is a change between UFC and punching, but if anything, you would think that McMahon would be favoring allowing Punk get the WWE some no cost campaign from an activity that the company—despite what McMahon may believe—actually stocks a lot of its lovers with.
McMahon is all about having his top celebrities create performances outside of the WWE if you want to advertise the organization (as confirmed by folks like The Miz and Bob Cena), so his choice not to do that with Punk rock is indeed a head-scratcher.
Any time McMahon can get some no cost advertising (as extensive as it’s excellent publicity), he should take the provide and create the most of it.
