On Nov. 1, World Wrestling Entertainment announced the suspension of one-half of the current WWE Tag Team Champions, Evan Bourne. Bourne, real name Matthew Korklan, was most recently seen wrestling on the Halloween edition of Raw as part of Air Boom with Kofi Kingston. The duo lost to the team of Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes after Barrett connected with Wasteland on Bourne. The suspension will be for 30-days, and the status of the tag team titles will likely be determined at the next Smackdown tapings.

For WWE, this is another name on the list of suspensions that has included D.H. Smith, Chris Masters, Carlito, Jeff Hardy, Manu, William Regal, Dolph Ziggler, Umaga, Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Referee Mike Chioda, Darren Young, and Tough Enough winner Andy Leavine. Young and Leavine are both currently out of action due to their suspensions.
In the professional wrestling world, it is hard enough to succeed as a smaller-sized performer, so for Bourne, this move can be tragic for his career. While he has a following, it is nowhere near the size of Mysterio's, which could make WWE question whether they should invest in him for the future. Bourne was one of the most popular wrestlers on the independent circuit when he known as Matt Sydal, and while those fans have carried over to WWE, it will be a long road back to the top.
As Bourne is well aware of, his actions haven't just hurt his career, but that of Kingston. Kingston is one of the most exciting wrestlers in the company, but aside from his amazing feud with Randy Orton, has been stuck in mid-card purgatory. In recent months, WWE has been pushing tag team wrestling more than they have in the recent past, with Air Boom getting the biggest of pushes. This suspension may very well end their team, leaving Kingston looking for an angle.
I saw this team appearing in a traditional Survivor Series match against Barrett, Rhodes and Christian, but I would expect Mason Ryan to make his way in as a replacement with Sheamus.
