I can’t be the only one sick of this atrocious storyline and image WWE has forced down my throat regarding Randy Orton’s ‘anger management.’ The booking team has never done a single thing that made me think he actually has an anger problem and here they are again shoving it down my throat going into SmackDown tomorrow night.
“Oh no! Orton kicks professional wrestlers in the head and punches them repeatedly after the bell rings! He must be out of control!!!”
Give me a break. Do something noteworthy with this already. It’s pathetic how badly they want him to be the new ‘Stone Cold’ by giving him the nickname of ‘The Viper.’
If anything, Kurt Angle had a bigger anger management issue a decade ago than Orton does today. Remember when Angle use to go on a mass ankle breaking spree?
Triple H used to destroy people with sledgehammers. Stone Cold used to Stone Cold Stun everybody in sight. Hell, Shawn Michaels was more believable when he would Sweet Chin Music the backstage crew and little girls with DX.
I’m begging WWE to do something of consequence with this storyline.
“You’re making the Viper angry…”
It’s an insult to the viewers at this point. Please do something that will make me think he truly has an uncontrollable anger program—and I don’t mean RKO-ing Christian through an announcer’s table twice. Who else thought it was humorous that the RKO couldn’t even make the announcer’s table break, twice.
It’s funny, if you watched Tough Enough, you’d think Austin was angrier training people than Orton is now competing.
WWE actually does have something great with the anger issues, despite repeatedly failing miserably up to this point with it. They have an opportunity to really make this believable by doing something unforeseen with Orton. We need to see him truly snap. WWE, you want him to be Austin—let him destroy the Titantron, something along those lines at the very least.
Right now, it’s another forced, lackluster angle. Orton has the look and the talent to pull it off, he just needs to finally do something noteworthy.
