Eric Bischoff Critiques Andrade's Return to AEW: A Cautious Outlook

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has expressed skepticism regarding Andrade El Ídolo's recent return to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Speaking on his podcast, 83 Weeks, Bischoff questioned the strategic decision behind AEW's move to re-sign the former WWE star.

Bischoff's Concerns

Bischoff admitted to being perplexed by AEW's choice to bring back Andrade, stating, "I can't make any sense of it. Part of it is because I just don't know enough about Andrade or anything else that's going on in AEW's universe to project what could be going on there." He further remarked that the decision seemed "like an odd choice," highlighting his uncertainty about the potential impact of Andrade's return on AEW's programming.

Andrade's Position

Despite Bischoff's reservations, he acknowledged that Andrade had limited options following his release from WWE. "Now, for Andrade, I mean, where else is he gonna go? So, he had one option left other than going straight indie," Bischoff noted. He also recognized that AEW's offer was financially advantageous for Andrade, stating, "I'm sure he's making a lot of money, which is a smart move on his part."

Future Outlook

Looking ahead, Bischoff expressed doubt about Andrade's long-term relevance in AEW, suggesting that he might quickly become "an irrelevant piece to the company's roster." He questioned whether Andrade's presence would have a lasting impact, stating, "Does anybody think anything unique is going to happen with him there? Is it going to matter six weeks from now? Probably not ... It'll be whatever happened to him? He'll be in the witness protection program."

While Bischoff's comments reflect a cautious perspective, only time will tell how Andrade's return to AEW unfolds and whether he can carve out a significant role in the promotion.
