Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan announced on Twitter that he will make his return to the go-home edition of WWE Raw next week when the show emanates from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, on Monday, Aug. 11.

With SummerSlam set for Sunday, Aug. 17, Hogan will likely be on television to help build anticipation for second-biggest pay-per-view of the year for WWE.

WWE rehired Hogan on Feb. 21 and he crowned the host of WrestleMania XXX from New Orleans. In support of the PPV, Hogan made two appearances on Raw (March 10 and March 24) and eventually was involved in an in-ring segment during the company’s biggest show.

Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock opened WrestleMania XXX in the ring together and shared a moment that symbolized the different generations of Superstars who have graced the stage over the years.

Recently, Hogan has been doing public relations work for the company. He traveled to Japan to be part of the introduction for WWE signee Kenta and has done multiple interviews building to SummerSlam and furthering the product.

Hogan was even involved with Sting's appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con:

One of Hogan's interviews that has caused the most buzz was with the Busted Open radio show, via ProWrestling.net, where he claims that current WWE World Heavyweight Championship titleholder John Cena is the greatest champion of all time.

While Hogan may be willing to put Cena over verbally, there are many experts who consider Hogan the greatest wrestler of all time. As a six-time world champion and the biggest draw of the 1980s and 90s, Hogan helped make wrestling cool and opened the sport up to a whole new generation of fans.

Hogan’s return to Raw next Monday likely will be just another way to get him on TV and drive up ratings, but there is always a chance to get him involved with a storyline. With Jack Swagger set to square off against Rusev in a Flag Match at SummerSlam, what better way to infuse some excitement into the storyline than by having Hogan’s Real American theme song hit and have him support Swagger?

Regardless of what Hogan does when he hits the ring, the WWE Universe will be happy to see one of the greatest wrestlers of all time back on Raw.
