In the wrestling world, it’s a no holds barred kind of life. A wrestler never knows who or what his next opponent will be.  In the past 12 years, TNA has had its fair share of super scary and supernatural talents step into the ring. In honor of the current Heavyweight Champion, Eric Young, hosting “Monster Week” on Animal Planet leading up to the premiere of his new show No Limits on May 30th, we took a look back at some of TNA’s most famed monsters.

Abyss
When Abyss first appeared at TNA in June 2003, it was obvious that he was he was going to be a havoc wreaking, merciless monster. He strikes fear in the eyes of fans, but more intensely in the eyes of his opponents, with his gigantic stature and unparalleled strength. Many fellow wrestlers rush out of the ring as soon as the first note of his menacing music booms across the arena. Oh, and let’s not forget about Janice. Although she has an unassuming name, Janice is one of the most terrifying weapons in the history of TNA, as she is a piece of wood with rusty, sharp nails sticking out to rip through the flesh of his unfortunate challenger.

Daffney
Armed with a fierce attitude and even fiercer talent, Daffney is one of the most brutal TNA Knockouts. Known for her grimacing snarl and tattooed appearance, she was a stark contrast to the other Knockouts in the division in the late 2000s, including Tara, Taylor Wilde and Madsion Rayne. Her high-flying capabilities made her a force to be reckoned with, but her piercing scream was her real trademark.

Willow
Willow has bewildered fans since his debut at Lockdown in 2014. We do know that the masked creature is the peculiar alter-ego of superstar Jeff Hardy, but other than a quick glimpse into his childhood home, his history is a mystery. He is able to attack his opponents using his uncanny speed, agility and talent for trickery. With his bizarre riddles, soul piercing stare and his signature spine tingling laugh, he has become known as one of TNA’s most feared, yet mysterious creatures.

Raven
Arguably one of professional wrestling’s darkest minds, Raven is, perhaps, the most cerebral of the monsters on this list. Raven is known to mentally destroy his opponents before he ever steps in the ring with them. Also an innovative mind in the ring, Raven is the creator of the Clockwork Orange House of Fun Match and the Hangman’s Horror match. With an incredibly violent run through TNA, WWE, WCW and ECW, it is undeniable that Raven is one of the scariest monsters to ever step foot in the squared circle.

Black Reign
Before Jeff Hardy and Willow, there was Dustin Rhodes and Black Reign. After Rhodes admitted to having a split personality, he decided to let out his darker side and debuted Black Reign at Hard Justice in August of 2007. His servant Rellik (killer spelled backwards), his Darkness Falls weapon and his rat named Misty were all unusual, yet valuable additions to his twisted reign.
