WWE Extreme Rules: What Stipulation Should Be Featured in the WWE Title Match?

On the next episode of Raw, Mark Henry will get a shot at the WWE Championship for the third straight week. Because of this, the title match for the Extreme Rules PPV has not been set.

Chances are that Mark Henry will not succeed in gaining the title. First, he is under the impression that he is competing for the World Heavyweight Championship, as he stated in his promo last week. Second, and more seriously, Punk and Jericho's feud is not over just yet.

We all wanted to see CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho, and we have gotten a great feud. However, things may be boiling down to the end at Extreme Rules, where an "extreme" stipulation will be in play.

Jericho has been tormenting Punk over the past month, taking shots at his family and his sobriety. There is quite a personal feeling in this feud, and at Extreme Rules, there is only one appropriate way to settle the madness: An "I Quit" match.

We have seen one "I Quit" match a year for the past three years, and they all end up the same way. John Cena was involved in all three of them, and the trio of Randy Orton, Batista and The Miz could not make him give up. However, Cena did have a big "I Quit" match early in his first WWE Championship reign that helped solidify him as a top man in the industry. That came in 2005, and it was one of his best matches at Judgment Day against JBL. Cena bled like a stuck pig, but in the end, he prevailed.

Even though CM Punk is currently in his second reign as WWE Champion, his first was marred by multiple titles and Kevin Nash. This time around, Punk has held the strap for five months, and Jericho is proving to be a worthy adversary who will help make him an even bigger star.

If Punk is going to take down Jericho once and for all, he is going to need that type of finality. With the way the feud has been going, Y2J is liable to do anything, and that includes getting the family involved once again.

Jericho has made Punk look vulnerable over the past month, and that could provide for some interesting ways of getting the champ to say the words "I Quit."

Due to the level of personal feelings in this feud, an "I Quit" match seems like the next logical step.
